My car does this as well, and it is super frustrating. My entire cooling system on my air conditioner went out at 250 miles, so I currently have zero air. All of this at 350 miles, with no end in sight of getting it repaired.
Did you take it in? I'm on part #3 and should hopefully be picking it up this weekend after A MONTH in the shop. If you are having issues too I wonder if it's a manufacture thing. My car does this as well, and it is super frustrating. Take it to a different dealer for sure. It took 3 weeks to get the initial part then they needed 2 more parts. Hoping this last one is it for the car and jts fixed. They have had it almost as long as I have owned the car at this point. If it's not fixed I'm having them replace the car. They should at least order the part abd get you in loaner for the time being. Mine has me in a rental. The dealer closer to me was gonna make me pay for all the work. I called the dealer that I bought it from (2hrs away) and they are covering it all and have been great so the drive is worth it. It should be under warranty so you need to push on them or find a different dealer. What state are you in? And is your SEL convenience too?I took it into the shop, they advised the machine that diagnoses the air conditioning problems is broken, and the part they need to fix the machine will not arrive for at least 4 to 5 MONTHS. I asked if I could take it to another dealership ( the next closest one is an hour away) , they laughed and said that I would be lucky to get an appointment in another service department in 2 to 3 months. I am beyond pissed at this point, to be driving a brand new car with major problems from the get go, the service department is zero help, so I have requested a meeting with the GM of the dealership.
The Tucson monitors air quality outside. When it detects bad air it will close outside air from coming in to the cabinHey all. I have a 2022 SEL convenience hybrid tucson and today when I was driving it randomly threw an alert to check the cruise control then another to check the front crash system. After that the ac started swapping to outside air rather than in cabin circulation. When I turned the car off the warnings went away but it's still doing the ac thing every few minutes. I'm pretty frustrated and not sure what is wrong. Think this so something I can reset myself or it's gotta go in to the shop? I've had it 2 months and it's got 2500 miles :/
I believe it also does this as part of the auto window defog when the humidity in the cabin is detected to be high. The system will switch to outside air for a bit until the humidity comes down and then switch back. It's a setting in the climate control options you can turn off.The Tucson monitors air quality outside. When it detects bad air it will close outside air from coming in to the cabin
Yes, however I always keep mine on inside air so it's toggling TO outside air. There was a hole in the hybrid relay that appeared to cause this. They "fixed" it but it happened again so I'm talking with the dealerThe Tucson monitors air quality outside. When it detects bad air it will close outside air from coming in to the cabin
From the owner's manual, this is what I was referring to:I believe it also does this as part of the auto window defog when the humidity in the cabin is detected to be high. It doesn't do that. It was a constant toggle and lights dimming. Not expected behavior. It was almost 7k worth or repairs that were neededFrom the owner's manual, this is what I was referring to:
Auto dehumidify (if equipped)
To increase cabin air quality and reduce
windshield misting, recirculation mode
switches off automatically after about 5
to 30 minutes, depending on the outside
temperature, and the air intake will
change to fresh mode.
Turning Auto Dehumidify ON or OFF
Climate control system
To turn the Auto Dehumidify feature
on or off, select Face level ( ) mode
and press the air intake control ( )
button at least five times within three
seconds. When Auto Dehumidify is
turned on, the air intake control button
indicator will blink 6 times. When turned
off, the indicator will blink 3 times.
Infotainment system
Auto Dehumidify can be turned on and
off by selecting ‘Setup → Vehicle Settings
→ Climate → Automatic Ventilation →
Auto Dehumidify’ from the infotainment
system screen.
Got it. Thanks for clarifying. I didn't see any mention of the dimming lights in here so apologies for that. Yeah this is definitely not the auto dehumidify if the lights were also dimming with it.It doesn't do that. It was a constant toggle and lights dimming. Not expected behavior. Mine is switching from recirculating to outside air. I don’t like it. Thanks for posting this. I will try to turn this off. 👍From the owner's manual, this is what I was referring to:

What is a “hybrid hole”?No worries at allit slowly got worse before I got it into the shop. It was there 37 days
the cruise control system, radar, camera and the hybrid hole were all what was wrong (so far)
Oh my gosh, my 2022 hoop Tucson was in the shop for 54 consecutive days and 57 total because the air conditioning doesn’t work right. They can’t figure out why the compressor shots on and off randomly it was blowing hot air first it was low on Freon from the factory they said and then there was a leak so they ordered a new part and it’s still not fixedDid you take it in? I'm on part #3 and should hopefully be picking it up this weekend after A MONTH in the shop. If you are having issues too I wonder if it's a manufacture thing.
I am I did the same and honestly I am to the point where I started the Autoline formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I’m going down the path of lemon law at this pointI took it into the shop, they advised the machine that diagnoses the air conditioning problems is broken, and the part they need to fix the machine will not arrive for at least 4 to 5 MONTHS.
