I noticed the same issue yesterday on mine. Uphill under load it sounded similar to an Jetta TDI. Once the road leveled out it was all good.

The engine is usually really quiet under normal driving. Maybe we just are not used to the smaller turbo engine noise while under load.

I came searching for singing sounds coming from the hood! No really, I noticed a couple of times now as my wife pulled onto driveway, my new Tucson Premium Plugin UK 21 plate was singing! Its got 246miles on it so far, so will keep an ear out for pre-ignition pinging. UK has recently changed forecourts to E10 95 octane as standard so hopefully not an issue.

I've come from a Volvo XC40 and extremely happy with extra power and extra spec of the Tucson. Happy Driving!
You must have had the T4 version of the XC40. I had a T5 and that had more power than my Tucson Hybrid Limited.

I do agree the interior on the Tucson is a nice place to be than the Volvo.
