AC Issues?

Our new SEL FWD 2022 Tucson has an AC that feels like it's struggling to cool down the car. Never gets truly crisp cold air just dull and half cold. Anyone else experience the same?

Thermometer in the vent the measure output lists 40 degrees so it's cold but it never really cools down the car or passengers.

^ I find the AC in my 2022 Tucson HEV is not as cold as my previous vehicle ('18 Audi Q5), but it's cool enough for me/us. When it's really hot outside it helps to put the Tucson's climate control system into "recirculate" mode. Needless to say it also helps to close the shade for the panoramic moonroof, if your vehicle is equipped with that option. I live in south-western Ontario and summer weather here is typically pretty warm (mid-to-high 80s F.) with quite high humidity (80% +).
Do you live in a state that experiences frequent high temperatures? Where are you located?
You may want to bring your Tucson to the dealer to have them check out/verify the correct operation of your vehicle's air conditioning.
Funny, my wife and I ended up test driving two different limiteds the day we bought ours (different colors... And we just wanted a second opinion/drive). With the first one we drove, the a/c didn't get super cold... But we chalked it up to be super hot outside+a relatively short test drive.

We ended up buying the second one (because of color preference)... But my wife noticed pretty quickly that it got much cooler than the first one. I assumed that maybe it was a dealer prep issue, and our a/c is working fine so maybe that's it.

But if yours isn't cooling sufficiently, it's worth looking into.
My Tucson hybrid A/C does not get as cold as my previous 2013 Elantra GT. I was chalking this up to it being a hybrid, but maybe not after reading this. I do live in Florida, so it gets a lot of use and do wish it was better.
I've just come back from the dealer after telling them the CC was not working correctly. The symptom shows like the CC thinks the temp in the cabin is cooler then it really is. Hence you need to set the CC much cooler to get the desired temperature. Setting 19 gets around 23 in the cabin.

Dealer tells me Hyundai is aware of the issue and they are waiting on a software update. Believe them, I don't know.

What is CC? We just purchased a new 2020 Tucson Hybrid Limited and we noticed that the AC doesn't blow cold air. It is just barely cool. We went to the dealership and they checked it and said everything is ok. But it is not. We own other cars where the AC is cold and we don't need to crank the blower higher than normal. So, at this moment we are a little concerned. We basically sweat inside the car if the AC is not blowing towards us.

CC=Climate Control. Fancy terminology ;)

btw, how did you determine the temperature difference and how did the dealership acknowledge about this issue so I can go back to our dealership and tell them about this. When we went to them today, I also complained about the reverse sound and they looked at me like I am talking in a different language... they were clueless about the sound.... that concerns me a bit... :)

Found the temp difference by using a digital thermometer. Dealer contacted Hyundai Technical and explained the problem and they already knew about it.

they were clueless about the sound
They are clueless about many things. Dealer did not even know the Maps and the AVN firmware could be updated at all, let alone by the vehicle owner. They are clueless and hopeless.

I have the same problem. Mine was cold when I bought it, but after 4 months, it now does not cool at all and only blows hot air.
Thus far I have the opposite experience with the air conditioning. In Florida where it has been near 90 for days with the usual humidity (not has high as it can be) I actually use the diffuser setting as a quick way to stop so much cold air right on me. I use Auto most of the time set at 72. The Auto mode is the best I have had in a car, because it gets the fan speed right as it cools down better.

Does everyone have the vents all set on open? Ours were all closed when we bought the car. 40 degrees at the vent is certainly a normal temp.

I've had pretty much the same experience here in Texas. AC working great even after 6 months of ownership

Hoping the AC on my incoming Hybrid SEL is good. I'm in Phoenix and we're just starting to get into the 100s. Given the rising temps over the years, we'll have at least 15-20 days over 110 this summer.

Different system on hybrid. Mines seems fine so far, however it hasn't been African hot yet in my AO.
Mine is similar - just stays slightly cool if blowing on your face, Never what I would consider cold. My outside temperatures only 62 and I like it cold. I have been meaning to talk to the dealer about this.
Must be something the same in both Hybrid and ICE, I see both saying not cool enough. Seems reasonable the system isn't "reading the room" right...

I kid you not, the hotter and more humid the better mine works here. I often end up using the diffusing mode. So it definitely can work well.

Been very hot here in Texas and the AC blasts out cold air! I too revert to diffuser setting as to not freeze us out!

I’m a bit slow on the upswing I guess. I thought “low” was AC mode. I hit the AC button and all is right…
