No, it definitely has a purpose. If you look closely at the picture (or at an actual Tucson), you will see it's not a curve in the sheet metal but an actual panel that can presumably be removed.Style. Every curve in the metal doesn't have a purpose other than style, so, it's aesthetically pleasing.
