Can someone answer if the Calypso red is shimmery, or flat? I prefer shimmery. I am looking to get one of these, and I loved my red 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe, and it was a shimmery red. I currently have a white Sante Fe and want something different. Thanks!

Don't know if I would call it shimmery, because it is a slightly darker red, not like a fire engine red. But it does have a subtle metallic fleck and it is quite shiny.

Im waiting for a Calypso Red Tucson to be delivered to the dealer and nervous about the red. I am hoping it is a darker red rather than an orangey red.
Definitely wouldn't consider it an orangey red.

Oh good! If it is real red….not orangey. Prefer the kind of burgundy red, but this looks like a gorgeous red. The 2017 Tucson had a red that this looks similar to. Thanks for responding.

Are Calypso Red and Crimson Red the same colour?

I don't believe they are the same. I have only seen pictures of the Crimson Red, which isn't offered on the '22 Tucson in the U.S., and it looks a bit darker/deeper red than Calypso.

Its a deeper red than Fire Engine Red, but in bright, direct sunlight it might pass as fire engine. It honestly photographs more red than it looks in person is the best way I can describe it. This was my same concern. I had the red Elantra and its a little brighter than that but not nearly as garish as the pictures Hyundai released. They honestly did not do themselves any favors with the stock photos of the colors. I had to drive an hour away to a dealership that had multiple colors in stock so I could see what they actually looked like.

I am really looking forward to buy Crimson Red Ultimate Hybrid. It looks great. But once I saw in bright sun, it was too bright for me. Anyone else feels like that? I like when the sun is soft and the color looks darker.

Calypso Red is beautiful! A deeper red with a lot of metalflake in the paint, very pretty!
