Clanging noise from left wheel area

Hey Community👋🏼,

I have had my Tucson N line (right hand drive) for just under 3 months and it's been driving great until 2 weeks ago. I started to hear a strange clinging noise coming from the left front wheel area. The noise comes and goes and usually returns when I am turning sharp corners, driving on bumpy roads or descending an incline. The sound is metallic in nature but has the pitch of two empty glass bottles bouncing on each other 🤷🏽‍♂️. I have returned the car or assessment from the dealers but sadly they are unable to pinpoint where the notice is coming from. The suspension and the brake pads were checked. If anyone have any idea what the noise could be or where it's coming from, I would love to hear your thoughts. I also have a recording of the noise in question.

Thanks in advance

There are two plastic "covers" that run front to back on each side. Many people have reported them being a little loose after hearing a noise and tracking it down. I did not hear a noise but I did find them both loose.

They have regular nuts holding them in a couple of places, those were tight on mine but others found some of them loose. BUT there are several plastic nuts that need to be hand tightened and all mine were loose one or two very loose. I believe they can not fall off/be simply screwed off but they do need to be hand tightened.

I would check there?
Could be the CV joint. You could jack up the wheel and remove it and inspect the joint for noise as you rotate the wheel. There could be a tear in the boot.

just finding this after some online hunting. i'm having the same issue with a phantom sound - seems to only really occur when turning right (weirdly) and only when it's cold(er). i'm guessing your response is probably where i need to start - can you clarify which covers you'retalking about? around the wheel wells or underneath somewhere? looking forward to hopefully resolving this minor annoyance to an otherwise good vehicle.
Hey just wondering if you found out what was going on as I’m experiencing something similar! Thanks

I know this is an old thread, but for lovnart7, my thoughts on the CV joints: often, bad CV joints will emit noises and/or cause a vibration. However, this typically changes as you accelerate, remain at a stable speed, or decelerate. Also can change with speed of the car in general. Assuming these noises don't take place when you hit the brakes (only) which obviously would point to brake issues.
