Digital Key Card

Hi,

I was watching the Hyundai video on the Tucson and the ad mentioned you can use a digital key card to open and start your car.

I reached out to my salesmen and he informed me the car didn't have that feature. I sent him a link to the video that showed a Tucson. We have a 2022 Tucson Limited. Still waiting to hear back.

Any new owners get a digital key card with their car?

That's weird you should be able to use the digital key. Have you followed these steps to try and set it up?

I can use the iPhone but the dealership never gave me the key card. It’s like a hotel card used for the rooms. I still haven’t heard back from my salesman.
I got word from my salesman the NFC Card doesn't come with the car and you have to purchase the card from the dealership. I also emailed the Consumer Affairs at Hyundai but no word back from them.
Anyone know when the digital key card will be available for the iPhone, the site say only Android for now is compatible with the physical card
All you need to do is have the dealership create your account first. Then you download the blue link from the app store. Your salesman should send you the code to get into your app. That's how mine was configured.
Thanks, I have the app but am referring more so about the physical card that fits in your wallet. (Should have clarified above)
Gotcha, It's called an NFC Card. Go to your parts department at the dealership and they may have it in stock. Mine was ordered and cost $30. You then take the card and place it on the wireless charger in your car to program the card. I did not have the chance to do that and the directions can be found in the manual or internet. From what I've read you can only program a single card.

My car was missing the Hyundai Digital Key. (The NFC key card). Can you order one for me, or order and have it sent to xxxxx and have them call me when it's in. Are they supposed to pair it with my car, since I do have an iPhone

"Can I use Hyundai Digital Key on my iPhone?

No. Hyundai Digital Key is currently only available on Android devices.
Alternately, you can use the Card Key provided with the vehicle.

It is listed as "Included" on my window sticker: See photo.

I'll let you know what I hear. If anything.

Dealer thinks the 2020 Sonatas have the NFC but not the 2022 Tucson.
I bought a 2022 Tucson a few weeks ago and did not get a physical card. I inquired with my salesman who, after some checking, informed me that only the Sonata (not sure on years) came with the physical card. I then called Hyundai Customer Care and I was told that they no longer include the NFC card with new vehicles, something about them frequently getting lost and needing to be deactivated, and that the listing on the window sticker was referring to the ability to use the digital key (via phone or card) and not the inclusion of the physical NFC card itself.
Thanks, Justice. This seems to be our answer.

Question for bangvegas.
If you do get your card working, can you let us know?

Does then NFC card have anything printed on it that indicates what the format of the tag is? Maybe I cn borrow and Android phone and try a generic NFC tag NTAG (203, 210, 210u, 212, 213TT, 215, 216) or Ultralight (Ultralight C, Ultralight EV1), DesFire, FeliCa or iCode. Or if you have an iPhone, maybe use the NFC Tools app (available at the App Store) ‎NFC Tools

I use both the Digital Key Phone and Digital Key Card on the Tucson Hybrid. Today while using my phone to start the vehicle, I received the following message on my phone. Does anyone have any idea what this means?

I'm still questioning if there is or is not a digital keycard for the 2022 Tucson Hybrid (USA, N America version). So far, I've not seen any evidence that there is. Photo?

And, no, sorry. I don't know what that message indicates.

NFC Card Key: Digital Key Cards are available from Hyundai (Part#: L0H81 AK000), my dealership had them in stock or they can be ordered online. Only one Digital Key Card can be programmed per vehicle. Once programmed to your vehicle, they cannot be reprogrammed for use on a different vehicle. For more information, see 2022 Hyundai Tucson Owners Manual, pp 5-25 - 5-28.

To activate a Digital Key Card using an Android phone:
1. You need to have the Hyundai Digital Key app installed.
2. You must have an active Digital Key.
3. From the Digital Key Android app > Pair Card Key > NFC Authentication.
4. Tap your phone on the Driver's Side exterior handle. Once authenticated, you have 5 minutes to complete the next steps.
5. Place Digital Key Card on the Tucson's wireless charging pad.
6. On the Tuscon, Settings > Vehicle > Digital Key > Card Key > Save (be sure Key Fob is in the vehicle during this operation).
Your Digital Key Card should now be active.
7. Test by removing your phone and key fob from the vehicle. Then place Card Key horizontally on the Driver's Side exterior handle until you hear the door lock. If it doesn't work, Delete the Saved key and repeat Steps 3-6.
8. To drive using the Card Key, place it on the wireless charging pad and start the vehicle as you normally would.
9. Once started, remove the Card Key from the wireless charging pad to avoid damaging it from prolonged charging field exposure and to avoid someone driving away with your vehicle.

See your 2022 Hyundai Tucson Owners Manual, pp 5-25 thru 5-28 for more info.

I heard the same thing from our salesperson. The NFC doesn’t work yet with iPnones. Still trying to find out when Hyundai will send/upgrade this for Apple users.
