Glove Box - crack or design feature?

Hi,

Today I opened the glove box and noticed this vertical indented line going down the right side of the interior of the glove box.

My initial reaction is that it’s a crack and shouldn’t be there. After looking a bit closer, it runs all the way up the back and over the top, so it may be an intentional design?

Does anyone have this same thing in their glove box? Please help! This might be a stupid question so pardon my ignorance.

Don't bother as I just checked mine and there is the exact same thing. Mine is a phev though. So, just enjoy~
Hi I am glad you posted this. Because mine is exactly the same. I was doing research to see if it was normal or not. I wonder why Hyundai did that?
It's probably how they build them. Weld two bits together.

Here’s the picture of mine (‘ 22, 2.5 LTD ). Don’t see it. Maybe it leads to a hidden treasure!🤪

My HEV has this mold line in the plastic. I never noticed it until reading this post.

Just noticed a trend. It seems to be a Canada/UK thing that they have it and we, in the colonies, don’t! Hmmm, maybe it’s a Continental Divide thing? I know there’s a million jokes here!

Or possibly old stock versus new stock.
I hope more people post their findings, no one wants to be pulled over with crack in their glovebox...

Yep there's a million of them....

I worked in tool and die for many years. This is indeed NOT a crack. It was deemed as acceptable by those who monitor such things at the assembly plant because it's located in a place where nobody cares. Unless of course you're part of a Tucson Forum where we LOVE to worry about every little thing :)
--gotta admit though, I can see why anybody would think something's wrong. It's one of the things that toolmakers try to eliminate when setting up mold machines. I'd guess that if this joint line was any place else, they'd have corrected it.
---Maybe glue in some nice felt to cover it with a classy solution?
