HELP PLEASE! Radio must be turned back on every time car is started

I‘ve only had my Tucson Limited Hybrid for a few days and am working through all the tech stuff. So far I really like the car but I’m having an issue with the radio.
The radio is on when the car is turned off. But every time the car is restarted, the radio has to manually be turned on. My salesman told this is ‘standard’ but I find it hard to believe that this feature cannot be changed, particularly with all the other tech features that the car has. A friend owns a Sonata Limited which seems to have pretty much the same software but she doesn’t experience this problem.
I’m working my way through the manual but so far haven’t found anything pertinent.
I would truly appreciate if someone can provide some guidance on this.

That's how my "Blue" radio works too. It is pretty annoying.
I don't think this is a "problem"; just intended design element. Personally, I'm pleased that the radio doesn't come on when I start my Tucson if I forget to turn it off. Everyone's preferences are different.

^ Hi Ann K. First off.. Congrats on getting yourself a new Tucson Limited Hybrid. :) (y)
Regarding the issue you're facing... your salesman was wrong to tell you this is 'standard' operation. I'm happy to tell you that the issue is easily resolved with a simple setting change.
With your vehicle turned on, look for and press the Setup icon on the Infotainment screen home screen. Now look for and press the General icon. Now scroll down through the long list of items to find Media Options (it's the 8th item down). When you press Media Options you'll see an option (tick-box) for the Radio/Media to be Off at Vehicle Startup. Remove the tick from that tick-box and your issue will be immediately resolved. Let us know how you go.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cheers Richard

Thank you, thank you. I would have found this eventually but it would have take awhile. So much better this way, at least for me.
Happy Thanksgiving

Less than 2 weeks into my PHEV Limited ownership but, along with some time wading thru the voluminous documentation it is helpful to explore the option menus. Lots of hidden gems and quirks to discover.

I'm actually loving that feature. I've just part-exchanged a 2016 Audi Q5 for the Tucson and the Audi used to keep the radio on at ignition, even if it was off when you turned the engine off. It would turn it back on at every start but with a very low volume, but still loud enough to be irritating. It would also do this with the heated seats...if they were on (driver or passenger) as the engine was turned off, they'd be on at the next start. Why? If you had a passenger who had the heated seats on and didn't turn them off, your next journey might not be with a passenger but the passenger heated seat would be activated again? Really stupid, IMHO. Yes, ideally this should be an option whether or not the car 'remembers' these settings but personally I'd rather things be off and I can turn them on, than they come on automatically and I have to turn them off...because most of the time, I won't want or need to use those items.
