Hello everyone. Is everyone as impressed with the new 2022 Tucson as I am? I just traded in a 2021 KIA Seltos SXT that I had for about a year and 5 months. Some may ask why the heck did I buy another new car after only owning my Seltos for such a short time. I think those of us who are new Tucson owners ...especially if you bought a Limited model, know why. I can't say anything derogatory about the Seltos. Mine was the top-of-the-line model but it was just didn't have some of the 'bells and whistles" I became used to having with the 2016 Optima I traded in for the Seltos. I missed the surround camera. I missed the backup beep warning when approaching an object when parking. I had the Turbo Seltos which was very peppy ...faster than most in it's class ...and it did have quite a few high-tech safety features like lane avoidance, Auto Hold, and a few more but I felt a little cheated since it was KIAs top model Seltos and they didn't choose to add the above-mentioned features I now have again in my new Tucson. After seeing the 2022 Tucson stellar reviews all over YouTube, my curiosity/interest got the best of me. I decided to visit a Hyundai dealer and check it out, thinking I would be leaving with the thought that I was satisfied with my Seltos ...with my curiosity/interest ending. Well, that didn't happen. The dealership was a no back-and-forth jerking-you-around style dealership. The simple gave me a great (IMO) trade-in value for my Seltos and I decided to take the plunge. My preferred color choices didn't look like they were going to be available for the foreseeable future. And, I was told that inventory for the new Tucson was scarce with other nearby dealerships unwilling to make vehicle trades for color choices. I even went online later that night to check the inventory from other dealerships within a 1 1/2 hour radios. Not having any luck, I asked them to put me down for the White w/gray interior one scheduled to arrive around the 26th of the month, giving me no-charge 1st refusal rights. Well after doing some vehicle comparison a couple of nights ago between my Seltos and the new Tucson, I was about 90+% sure I was going to make the deal but was going to ask for a delay until I could get my preferred color choice. I checked with my insurance company and found out my insurance, for the same coverage would only be $21 more for my 6-month policy. Fast forward to yesterday's mourning. I got a call from the salesman saying they got an Intense Blue Limited in (virtually same color as my Seltos was) ...which was one of my 2 preferred choices ...and the lady that had first dibs on it had purchased a new car already ...so it was available! That pretty much sealed the deal for me! I'll post a picture or two later on when I get a chance. Gald to be a new Tucson owner and member here.
