Around 2 days ago the Hyundai Canada | Cars, SUVs, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles | Hyundai Canada website offers the PHEV, not as a pre-order but as a formal option.

Prior to that only the regular Hybrid was available. It is not a direct selection but is sold as an "extra" package on top of the Hybrid Luxury and Ultimate.

The cost is $4,600CAD on top of any those trims. I'll guess that the first available PHEVs will be around November, there is a big shipment arriving on October + Delays. After that it will be a very slow process to get them here, these first units will be more of a "token" to have the ball rolling.

Cheers!

still patiently waiting for the Ult Hybrid I ordered in Aug...
They told me it would be 8k more... seems way off
The waiting time to receive an order placed last month or this one on a plugin will be waaaay too much for me (February at least). You did the right thing going with the Hybrid, you may get it end of November, mid December. Hopefully less, fingers crossed. :)
Thanks for the update. I'd been checking the Hyundai Canada website over the summer, but gave up when there were no updates in August.

I have deposits with two dealers in BC since May for the PHEV; hoping to better my chances of getting one early and maybe pit them against each other when it comes time to sign the paperwork. Though back in May, each dealership had plenty of non-plug in hybrids in stock. Hoping to get mine before Halloween, neither dealer has a clue on when they will arrive. If it doesn't come in by November then I'd rather it not come in until early Spring so I don't need to buy the winter tires right away. lol.
I am supposed to receive my plug in ultimate around octobre 14th !

Hi David2027,

Can I ask what general area of BC you are in? My dealership in Victoria hasn't even received their allotment from Hyundai Canada yet. I have had mine on order since May and it seems nobody has a clue when they might arrive.
I read on another Forum that a sales manager in Ontario suggested it would be January 2022 before they started coming in.

You did get a PHEV and not just a EV Hybrid right?

Thanks,
Proton47
Lower Mainland. Picked it up at the dealership in White Rock. Yes it's a PHEV, luxury trim in amazon grey.

Nice!!!. Thanks so much. Gives me a little bit of hope as it has been a frustrating wait : )

Well worth the wait. We had a 2017 Tucson Limited 1.6T that we traded in and the new Tucson is lightyears ahead of that one in every way. Fantastic car!
We picked up our Tuscon PHEV on Saturday, Oct 9th, ordered back in early June this year.

I heard the PHEV is slower than the HEV with the extra battery weight

I am in Vernon BC, I ordered in spring and it was delivered on Sept 28th, about a month behind schedule. It is worth the wait.

How much deposit does the dealership require you to put down, and is it refundable?

I ordered a PHEV luxury today. Dealership says it will be 6 Months. I am in Ontario. What are others hearing ?

I tested both and they are about the same, but regular hybrid on road test of 20 mixed km had avg.6.7L /100 km and plug in on the 30 mixed km distance had 1.1L/100 km in EV mode only half of the fully charged battery used

Note both cars were preheated and reset before road test
