Thanks.

What is the thought behind not being able to lock the rear passenger's own door? Perhaps I am overly cautious, but I would prefer to have the ability to prevent others from just opening my door.

I think any car I have had in recent modern times all doors unlocked when the either the car shut off or it was put in Park. Some may have the option only the driver's door.
It's true some cars have a lock for your door in the back and you could lock it again.

Even my last car from over 10 years ago has auto-lock shifting into D and rear passenger door locks. I wasn't sure if this was a recent trend or something specific to Hyundai. I have been out of the new car scene for a while. :D
