Scary! Is it drivable? Did they give you a loaner?
The dealer said we have to wait for hyundai to call us and discuss about loaner, etc. For now they gave us an Accent for a few days. The car was driveable (no warning lights either), but they said we shouldn't drive it anymore.Scary! Is it drivable? Did they give you a loaner?
YES! That's similar to how ours sounded like. I forgot I had a recording of it.This is what mine is doing. Finally had the time to record it. Don't know how well it will show up on speaker, but its very clear if you have headphones.
I guess it gets louder at 1000 miles lol. Ours has 850 miles as of today. I'll let you know what they tell me on Monday. Are you going to wait the 2 months or lemon law it?YES! That's similar to how ours sounded like. I forgot I had a recording of it.
Not sure. Hyundai hasn't reached out to us yet (no surprise). My parents own the car, I've been looking up issues with the Tucson, and I found this forum (lol). I'll show them your video and see what they'll say.I guess it gets louder at 1000 miles lol. Ours has 850 miles as of today. I'll let you know what they tell me on Monday. Be sure you read your states lemon law carefully. Some states wont let you lemon law if you accept a loaner while yours is in for repair. Also I got an update today as well, its the transmissionUpdate:
Had to return the Accent today, and managed to get a Palisadefrom the dealer, for a month. No call from Hyundai yet, it'll be 5 days tomorrow, so my dad's going to call them tomorrow. (Dealer initially said we will get a call in 3-5 days.) We are planning to lemon law it if Hyundai doesn't take back the car.

Crazy we had the exact same problem on the same day.
I'm gonna look into other models as well for problems. Hyundai uses a 6 speed auto in the hybrid model(non plug in) that they've been using for years so it should be known if it has problems. Leaking transmission fluid makes sense seeing as the sound got worse over time.Sorry to hear that, and thanks for letting me know about the lemon law. I've found 2 similar issues about the transmission on the NHTSA's website for the non hybrid model, not sure how widespread this issue is. "June 16, 2021 I was informed by Hyundai dealership that the 22 TUCSON has a mechanical defect, transmission fluid was leaking which now the Transmission needs to be replaced." View attachment 791
Interesting, even though it's a different transmission, it's having a similar issue. Very weird.I'm gonna look into other models as well for problems. Any kind of update about your Tucson? My dealership is telling me there's no ETA on the parts and every time I ask what EXACTLY failed in the transmission, they dodge the question.
Yeah... it's absurd that they didn't even give you a rental. I'll update on what Hyundai says next week. (If they even do.) Ironically, the day corporate said they'll give us an update, is also exactly 30 days since the car has been at the service center.Corporate called me over a week ago and said they'd look into it for me. No word since that. I understand supply shortages happen, but no loaner and lack of a parts ETA is pushing me towards lemon law. It's been almost a month now.
