This is mostly me complaining/asking for info now that I've had my 2023 Tucson Hybrid Limited for 1 month and 700 miles.

I went from a 2018 VW Tiguan SEL PREMIUM to the Tucson. This ia my first hybrid.

Accessories I've puchased
-a spare tire from a Palisade because the Tucson hybrid doesn't come with one.
-the center console organizer
-sunglasses clip for the sun visor because the Tucson doesn't have a taco holder.
-a seat back organizer for behind the second row because as with most SUVs there not much place to store stuff

Things I like so far
-WAY faster than the Tiguan and that's saying something since the Tucson isn't exactly fast
-Fuel mileage is roughly 50% better than what I was getting in the Tiguan. (Still sucks that is so much less than the estimates)
-its not a VW
-the remote parking assist while mostly useless is AWESOME! I have yet to use it for any real reason other than to pretend I have a $40k R/C car that can only drive forward and backwards.
-remote start actually works from more than 3 feet away. And heated steering wheel turns on automatically when it's cold.

Things I don't like (or haven't figured out yet)
-the smart keys cannot be programmed to a specific profile
-the infotainment system is wonky AF.
--If my phone is plugged in and Android auto is active it only plays Sirius XM through AA instead of playing through the infotainment.
--i hate how with AA it either shows like 4 windows of things (map, sxm, etc) or it's one large window and a the entire right half of the screen is just an AA logo
--With AA active the steering wheel buttons no longer function as they should
-no way to seemingly set default drive mode (ie id like it to default to smart not eco)
-unsure of what the point of driver profile is. Other than to save radio presets.
-not super fun to drive, as in it's all around purely a 'meh' experience. Not to say I was expecting a sports car like experience, but something more than purely existing.
-Factory Navigator has some funky ass routes.

Anyone have anything to add/assist with/suggestions?

Check to make sure the split screen option from the Phone Projection menu is turned off before activating Android Auto. This should remove that annoying AA logo on the right side of the screen. I still had that checked by mistake and was not getting Android Auto in full screen. The split screen option allows you to see the Tucson widgets, so unless you like those widgets you can turn off the option.

Trade it in for something else. While several of those things aside from AA (that may not even be a Hyundai thing), can be addressed by reading the manual there is no sense in taking the time for a car you don't like driving. After finding out the answer to some of that list, you will find other things you don't like because you don't like the car.

So because I have minor complaints about various features it means I hate it and should go scorced earth and start new? Good to know.

Also, pretty sure exactly zero of those things can be taken care of by reading the manual. Unless of course reading the manual magically unlocks the ability to change functionality that wasn't there to begin with. #ThereWeAreThen

"-not super fun to drive, as in it's all around purely a 'meh' experience. Not to say I was expecting a sports car like experience, but something more than purely existing." Says it all. And you already know nothing in the manual will help answer any of the complaints.
I'm not being flippant I sincerely believe you won't be happy and will looking to trade it for something else.

And don't add a spare tire then complain about the mileage. It was left out for a reason. I agree with Tampa8 - go find something else to complain about.

You're kidding right? Not only did I say I was happy with the mileage (just not as happy as I COULD be) but a spare tire isn't going to drop mpg THAT much. Not too mention it's pretty well known the mileage was overestimated in the first place. Many others WITHOUT a spare are getting very similar mileage. #StopWithTheFanboyBS

All you read about the Tucson hybrid is that it has 238 combined horsepower and it's a positive driving experience. All I'm saying is I was expecting a positive driving experience, not purely "yeah, it's fine." At no point did I say I hated it or that it's even terrible.

Also YOURE THE ONE that told me to read the manual, that it would address my issues

Some of you guys are being quite rude. Let him be critical if he wants to. It's a freaking car. We all have gripes with our cars -- well, most rational people who aren't tribalists. Doesn't mean he should trade it.
This!
Heaven forbid I have minor gripes and reach out to see if I was doing something wrong or if there's a simple fix.

I hope it doesn't put you off in participating in our community. I thought your criticisms were perfectly valid and reasonable. No car is perfect, after all.

BTW -- I've never heard of a sunglass holder referred to as a "taco holder". I'm stealing that!

Luckily I am not new to the Internet and know "fanboys will be fanboys ".

I also had never heard of it till one day my wife (then girlfriend) asked me to get her sunglasses out of the taco holder. The look of confusion on my face had to have been priceless.

–I find it odd that the smart keys wouldn't be configurable for the specific profile. My father's '13 Passat has separate keys, which control the memory seat. You'd think that Hyundai would be able to make that happen for their Limited Trim.
–Yes, the Infotainment is buggy, but I've seen it improve since buying mine. Will it ever be perfect? Absolutely not. But coming from a VW, you know all about wonky electronic systems.
–I don't use Sirius XM or AA, so I'm out of my comfort zone here. A thought... perhaps this is an intentional programming choice. I don't know why it would be, but maybe... Either way I think you're being too picky. You can still listen to Sirius XM.
–This definitely sounds like an AA problem and not a Tucson problem. [Insert mandatory "IMHO"]
–I use AC not AA. I haven't noticed the steering wheel buttons malfunctioning while using AC (just randomly dropping wireless connection).
–10000% this one I would love to have it default to "Smart" instead of Eco. That being said, I'd like it to stay on Eco when my wife is driving it and she doesn't mess with settings like I do. Maybe it's best the way it is (for me).
–In my understanding the driver profiles also control the memory seat settings in addition to the radio presets. Again, why wouldn't they connect this functionality to the unique keys. It seems like they've really missed the boat on this one (seemingly) minor point.
–Call me boring, but I enjoy driving my Tucson. I'm a man in his 30's with a minivan full of kids. Driving the Tucson through some curvy roads on Sport mode can be pretty enjoyable. It isn't a Camaro or a GTI, but I talked my wife into thinking it was not only a good idea but more importantly HER idea. Once your Tucson is broken in, drive around in Sport for a while to get the battery charged above 75%. Turn on auto-hold. Find a flat, quiet stretch of road. Come to a complete stop. Then floor it. The instant torque from the fully charged battery makes it more fun. It isn't super fast, but I find it fun. I also like putting puzzles together and find television too stimulating, so take that advice for what it's worth.
–I have yet to find a navigation provider (factory, Google, Apple, or otherwise) that doesn't suggest some strange routes.

Well, I'm pretty sure we are the same person (also a man, in his 30s, TV is terrible (for other reasons that too stimulating, but tomato, tomato), enjoy puzzles)

I appreciate your response with actual valid points unlike some others here.

What's even WEIRDER about the key issue is that a digital key via your phone can be attached to driver profiles, I can't decide if it's just a Hyundai being Hyundai thing, if things were rushed due to the overall climate of the vehicle market, or just a simple oversight.

I am well versed in wonky electronics, I guess it was a combination of hoping coming from VW, masters of wonky, that it'd be better. It is better persay, but mostly just different wonky.

My biggest gripe with the XM/AA issue is it's just another extra step (after the extra step of picking driver profile, picking drive mode, etc).

Again, these are all complaints not massive deal breakers. Growing pains with a new vehicle if you will?

To be honest I have no idea what I was referring to about the steering wheel buttons, but it DOES annoy me that up on the channel select/skip track button is actually down. Backwards from what you'd think.

The Tuscon drives perfectly fine, but that's just it. Perfectly fine. I guess I was over hyped on the drive.

I am sorry for all of the negative and mostly nasty responses. When I first found this site when I bought my 2022 Tucson Limited (gas) and people seemed much more understanding and, I’ll just say, friendly. It’s certainly changed over the past, not even a year, with how people respond and think it’s ok to be rude and mean to each other. Everyone just needs to take a chill and at least try to be nice and sympathetic to someone who has issues and came here looking for help. Not to be made fun of and talked down to. It’s not just here but everywhere. Just because a person comes on here looking for help, although it may not be “an issue” to them, obviously it is to you or you wouldn’t have come here looking for help, possibly answers and/or ideas to try. Shame on everyone who can’t stop being mean and try to see who has the best “dig” and put yourself in someone else’s shoes for 10 seconds because you might have the answer to some of these issues and god for bid actually help someone and not make them feel crappy for even coming into a site that is meant to bring people together with the same vehicle, or similar, and is looking for help, not A-holes that do nothing but criticize. Just because it’s not an issue for you or important to you, it’s obviously important to the person coming here for help. You all know the saying, “ if you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all”! Although I don’t have answers to the issues you are having, I hope you can find them. Have a great rest of your day!

Thank you, I appreciate your response. Unfortunately the Internet as a whole is an ever increasing slippery slope towards chaos, anarchy, and more recently a wasteland barren of intelligence.
