Just bought my second ever new car. After 30 years of Fords I bought a Hyundai because my 2017 Escape needed an engine at 76K miles and Ford couldn't have been less concerned. Very disappointed but really like the Tucson. Roomy, (I'm 6' 4" and 280), comfortable, quiet, etc. The technology is cool and the features at the price point are exceptional. Still figuring out the car but I have right away one question. Why is there no warning beeper on the rear view camera? I and my wife are so used to that beeper that it almost seems inevitable that we'll back into something. With all the other technology in this car a tone was just too much? Even the salesmen couldn't explain it. Do older Tucsons beep? Other Hyundais? Just asking. Cat now has almost 20 miles on it and the wife is loving it. Fun to meet a new forum!

The SEL doesn't have rear parking assistance (I assume that it is audible) the Limited (in US) does I believe, but, the cross traffic blind spot system will beep if your in reverse and something is heading behind you. Other than that, I think you will get used to the camera for backing up. It took me a bit as well.

We have the Canadian Ultimate trim (Limited in the US?) and ours does have a backup horn which sounds the whole time reverse gear is selected. Because different locales have their own “safety” rules, aspects like beeping and the volume of those beeps do vary widely.
