I saw an ad today that a dealer here in Hamilton has 6 non-hybrids in stock but I didn't check the models.
I just creeped their website and saw them! Thanks for the tip, but none are the trend package that I was looking for. 🙁I saw an ad today that a dealer here in Hamilton has 6 non-hybrids in stock but I didn't check the models.

Yeah, that's why I'm glad I didn't end up going HEV or PHEV this time around. The next one for sure will be! Production for my preferred trend was initially supposed to be November of this year, but it's been delayed once more. So I was hoping to see if there was a list similar to the PHEV/HEV one that is on here for Canadians. If you were to check the Hyundai Canada website, you`ll find the HEV and PHEV models are SOLD OUT. I guess that might give you an indication on the wait list. I`ve read on reddit someone in BC placed an order for a PHEV at the beginning of December 2021 and was given an email from Hyundai that it will go into production December 2022. lol
Fortunately, I am also in BC and ordered my PHEV the first week of June, and received delivery the first week of November (5 month wait only).
That's awesome! I had a hybrid rental through the insurance of a Ford Escape this summer, and I was impressed on the fuel economy then! The lack of heat pump, however, would be a boon for here in the winter, especially given that this morning it is currently -21C and I can't imagine how much fuel it would use in the winter just when starting up. Hopefully by the time I get my next Tucson, it'll be something that is better managed, as I definitely want to go PHEV with it!Definitely liking the car so far. But I don`t have access to charging at home. The closest station is in an uncovered parking lot 2 blocks away (2 plugs) and it`s high in demand because it`s the cheapest in the city $0.50/hr.
The car also doesn't have a heat pump, so it's near impossible to drive in full EV mode during the winter. Anytime you need to turn on the defrost or heater the gas motor kicks on. I had a noticeable drop in fuel economy this month compared to last month when the temps dropped from 8 Celsius to 1 Celsius.
All in all though, I paid $50 combined fuel/electricity during the first month of ownership where my old car (an 06 Tucson) I would have paid about $200-250 in fuel.
Preferred trend order here. I ordered in September 2021, with estimated build date of November 2021. Got an email in December that production was delayed to January 2022. Contacted the dealer last Monday to see if there was any update on the order, and lo and behold, it was on a ship! It had apparently shipped out at the very beginning of the year. I found the ships bound for BC from that area and one of them was arriving today there! So I'm hoping that it is now in Canada!I also ordered a 2022 preferred trend, at the beginning of Jan 2022. I was told a wait time of 12-16 weeks. Haven’t heard anything yet since the day I placed the order, though it’s only been 2 weeks.
Just curious is there anyone else here that ordered a preferred trend around the same time or a few months before me? Wondering if you have any updates or can advise me on expectations?
Haha that’s interesting, about the email you got. Hope your rep at the dealer didn’t make a mistake. That’s great though, looks like you should be getting it soon.Preferred trend order here. The first email from Hyundai honestly didn't come in for 2-3 weeks, and it was just confirmation of the order and my initial queue placement. Be prepared to wait, but it could honestly arrived sooner than you expect with production having ramped up.
Forgot to add: I got an email the same day that I contacted the dealership for the VIN that my production was still on schedule for this month and I was #90 in the queue. So I may be receiving 2 cars?Lol not really
He did say that the name attached to it was ours and same with the VIN. So I think we're okay. 🙂Haha that’s interesting, about the email you got. Hope your rep at the dealer didn’t make a mistake. That’s great though, looks like you should be getting it soon.
I’ll be super happy if my car comes in before the 12-16 weeks estimate. Honestly, as long as it doesn’t get delayed or pushed back I’ll be happy of course lol.
Keep us updated and let us know when you get yours! Would also love to hear your review of it once you’ve driven it a bit!
I did order the same preferred trend in beginning of January 2022. Contacted the dealership and they say it hasn’t been manufactured as of now.
