First, and still, the 'smart' tailgate is not. It works first thing in the morning, then nada, must use fob to open it. Now two warnings lit up my dash, 'low pressure right rear tire!' with of course, images of the flashing right rear tire on screen. So, as quickly as I could, I went to the tire shop, Discount, with good equipment, and had 35# put in the rear tire...started her, and still, 'warning, low pressure right rear tire!' I watched the guy put 35# of pressure in the tire, and the sensors are still off? Also, about the time this happened, another warning came on, 'check right rear backup sensor', I have no idea on how to check a sensor, does anyone? One more item to my rant, how do you turn off the 'stop and go' 'feature' in this vehicle? I've asked before, but this is becoming a big pain the butt. I already have my foot on the brake, I'm stopped of course, and when I release the brake it makes a grinding sound like an old beater would, not a brand new Tucson or any other brand new vehicle. I'm starting to notice I don't really care for this vehicle as much as I thought I would.

1-You have to insist on a ride along with a tech so you don't get the "can't duplicate" line. 2-That groaning sound should be easy to fix. Most of the time all they need to do is put a little dab of grease on the back of the brake pads and clean them up . Also, did you try a brake bedding procedure? You can google it. 3- The rear backup sensor issue needs to be checked. Take picture of the warning the next time it comes up so you can verify the problem. 4- When they fill the tires, the low pressure light won't go off until you drive for a bit. If it still doesn't go off, the system can be recalibrated by the tech or the sensor can be replaced. You can also document the pressure problem by taking a photo of the pressure gauge with the proper reading and comparing it to a photo of the warning light still on. 5- For the hatch you should demonstrate the exact problem to the tech. There is an outside chance that some procedure is not being followed. I don't have that feature so I can't advise you on it. Maybe somebody else here can. All this shtt must be awfully agravating for you. It doesn't help when you have to wait weeks for an appointment and they still dont solve the problem. I hope you can get it resolved.

Hatch only opens automatically when doors are locked, and not right after you lock them.

Your tire was low, you DID have a problem so it appears that iworked correctly. That sensor does not immediately change after adding air you have to drive for awhile for it to get the correct reading.

The stop and go feature has nothing to do with the brakes, it stops the motor when you stop to save gas. You can turn that off each time you start the car.

Do you mean the Auto Hold feature?? That one you must turn on each time you start the car and it holds the car without your foot on the brake. Your description seems to include both those. ALL cars can have a slight "creaking" when you release the brake to start forward it's more pronounced if you do it with the engine off from stop and go. Can be from brake dust, being wet, any number of things.

Thanks! I was trying to avoid taking it in to the dealership, but may have to. I don't have a cell phone to take pictures of problems, but will point out to the tech the problems I'm having, some easily shown as not working. Hey, if it's something I have set wrong, so be it, I can be taught. Thanks again!

The doors are locked! Something else you didn't read or understand...first thing in the morning the hatch 'smart' feature from 20' away, when I'm walking by, and will again on the first occasion to use it, however, after a 5 hour time at the golf course, with fob in hand, the 'smart' feature doesn't work, period. Also, when I approach the drivers side door, and put my hand on the handle, it beeps just once, indicating it's locking, it's already locked! I want the damn door to open.
'auto hold' I didn't set it, and when you tell me that sound 'all cars have', that's just wrong. I have a 21 year old GMC Jimmy and it doesn't make any sounds, this crunching sound from a new car is awful, new cars should be quieter than 20 year old cars.

Listen sport, first off, I didn't push any 'auto hold' button, secondly, you can keep your opinions and descriptions to yourself! I don't care for them or you, fuck off!

Wow, no cell phone. Sounds like freedom ha! We all try our best to ignore ALL the button pushers, but nobody's perfect, not to mention that you are100% right. Groaning brakes on a brand new car is not normal, auto hold or not.

Oh, grandpa is triggered. Why dont you check the auto hold button. Did you read the manual? Probably best off with a 30 year old car with no options. Its too complicated for ya.

'groaning', perfect! I was searching for a word that described the noise they make. Cell phones. I may have to try once again to acquire one, I don't want or need one, but in some cases it's the only way you can communicate or get job done, and thanks!

I will try to get you up to speed on my qualifications, although in your state, that may be impossible. I spent 40 years in the car business, lining, wholesaling, brokering, the whole deal, happen to know more about how vehicles operate then many will, ever. So, before you begin thinking you may be that 'shining star' in your own mind, and before knowing what you're talking about, know your opponent, which you have no idea of my intelligence or know-how. 'never argue with a moron, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience'.

Then you should know cars will "groan" sometimes from a stop and foot coming off the brakes onto the throttle. Predictable when it is wet roads my MX5 will do it till the rotors dry off. All my car at one time or another will groan when coming from a stop. I would say not normal if it does it every time in all conditions.

That sound is amplified to the driver when using the autohold and stop and go is in use.

Fob often works better in your pocket than in your hand. Your hand tends to shield the signal. Next time after the 5 hours you say it does not work stand right up near the tailgate. Multiple times I have noticed if holding the fob I have to get closer, or if something is in the pocket with the fob I have to turn that side of me towards the hatch.

I am glad I don't have that feature. You shouldn't have to to a gymnastics routine to get your "automatic" tailgate to work.

Love that feature. I have little doubt if your car had it you would use it. I keep the fob in my pocket, the most I have to do is turn that side of my body towards the car sometimes.
We are all beyond lazy if that is too much to do!!

This is starting to read like a thread from middle schoolers. How about contributing relevant information and leave personal insults to other social media platforms.
Quite apropos. And when coming across a post absent any semblance of civil exchange I check others of the same source to see whether it's just a one-off and a case of a bad day, or, a pattern indicating classic troll behavior stemming from delayed / failed maturity. Unfortunately, as we're finding it's more the latter in the cases pointed out. Reinforcement also comes in the form of double down dumb, which is too-often impossible for the most immature to resist.
I just wish the Admin and Moderators took to involving themselves more in moderating this forum for clear violations of their terms of service.

The question I would have about these issues is why should the owner have to document/diagnose these issues if the onus is on the mfgr. To make sure the electronics are right the first time before leaving the assy. Line???
