Remote start

Why aren't any lights coming on the outside with remote start? I thought the 1st time using it I had lights staying on to show the car is running, otherwise it's started but I can only tell by sound or if I start it through Bluelink (which magically began working again), seeing the successful message. Kinda dumb to have no lights on indicating car is running.

I'm still having trouble with Bluelink doing anything. While the car shows me that I'm charging the battery, Bluelink says I am not plugged in. When I go to start the car on the app, it takes forever to "process" the information. Faster and easier to just start the car, lol

I believe that the lights stay off during remote start to inhibit people from trying to steal your car. Walking by with no lights on they might not be able to tell it's running. I could be wrong however.

On mine (Luxury PHEV), the remote start only works if all the doors are locked (I think, I've only had it for 3 days)
I got my PHEV tonite and once the doors are locked, I used the remote start and none of the exterior lights came on. I barely knew it was running and it was not until I was almost next to it did I see it really did remote start.

I just press lock twice and press the start button on the fob. No lights. Trust and obey. Lol

The signal lights blink twice acknowledge the auto start. Then, you should see exhaust from the tailpipe almost immediately in the cold weather. When the ambient temperature is warmer than the default hvac setting of 72 degrees F the engine might not start immediately until the a/c uses some power and the battery calls for a charge. Regardless, you should trust that the blinking lights tell you the start was successful. Of course, the doors must be locked before you try starting the car. You push the lock button twice then press and hold the "hold' button until you see the lights blink twice. I don't bother with any of that overcomplicated bluelink crap.

It’s hard to check for exhaust when approaching the car from the front. Or in California where we don’t have cold weather.

Hyundai's weak spot.

Not enough options on remote start.

By design now, it should flash parking lights twice then stay off when remote running.

Bluelink app should give conformation message of successful start.

It's far better then they used to be when Hyundai had them flash the whole duration on my Kona, alerting the neighborhood at 4am a car is unattended and running.

They went complete 180 to hush the complaints.

Now no lights on when running.

Would be nice to have the option for steady on and select run times.

Fixed run time too short for cold weather.

It's good the lights stay off so the neighborhood criminals won't know the cars running from a distance.
I love the remote start other then the HVAC always comes on full blast even though I had it turned off,
When I remote start it always turns on full blast automatically.
Does anyone have a code for the OBD scanner to override the parking lights to stay on when using the remote start.

They can't go to far without the keys
