I found it myself, I cannot recall where but there was a range of settings for sound in the Navigation set up somewhere. The doorbell-style ding dong is now much louder and gives a good warning of a camera.
Setting the speed camera warning UK
I have set the speed camera warning on but I find the warning chime is very soft and it is easy to miss the warning. Strangely it chimes louder when you are past the camera than it does as you approach. I have searched for a volume sound control for this chime with no success. Can anyone advise please?

some say there is a female voice i have not heard a single warning as yet - i think i have been in the settings but no voice is choosable
