I’m seeing issues with oil pans and transmissions, should I run away from this? Was excited for it, but are these issues really not that common?
If you have doubts and are not excited getting a new vehicle you shouldn't get that vehicle. Go to other forums of vehicles you are considering and what is being said there by owners.

You have to realize that maybe 20-30 people here from all over the world are having trans issue out of maybe 50000 Tucsons sold. Put it in perspective. Ours has been perfect .

Generally I agree, problem is of all those owners only a percentage come here to post. We really don't know how many vehicles are affected.
Many problems are a particular production run problem, and some get fixed after the problem becomes obvious at the factory or at the dealership. I bet that oil pan problem is no longer on newer runs.

Read up on reviews, such as Consumer Reports, Car & Driver, etc. For the most part, they’ll all show a very reliable SUV. They all have a reputation of recommending vehicles you can feel confident buying or leasing. Whether you go hybrid or gasser is up to you.
