To charge or not to charge

I have a level 2 charger and am trying to plan for charging the PHEV. I fully charged yesterday and, after some driving today, still have 85% charge. I see references to not charging to 100% all the time. Anyone have experience/guidance on what is best practice? I want to utilize the EV mode as much as possible but do not want to cook the battery!

For most lithium-ion chemistries, batteries last longest when kept between 40% and 70% charged. The ideal way to charge, if you want to fully charge and preserve battery life, is to fully charge just before driving so that you're drawing down the charge above 70% as soon as possible.

Also, keep in mind that heat is the enemy of all battery chemistries. A quick charge will heat the battery more than a slow charge.
