When I put it on cruise, if still accelerating, the car will not go up to 8th gear. RPM's stay high. It wont go up to 8th gear. I have to take out of cruise, hold a steady speed, and then hit cruise. In sport it will not even do that. Software issue, or just Korean car normal? Also, can active cruise be disabled somehow?? I hate it. Came from a 2020 Canyon and I hope this was not a mistake. The car drives very well other than that and a very difficult a/c and infotainment screen. 2022 SEL, base engine.

You cannot disable active cruise, and yes, 7th gear cruise is normal. It doesn't make a difference in economy really.

This is at 80mph. Very odd it will not go up to 8th for economy. But, when I stay at 80 for a few seconds and then engage cruise, it will stay In top gear.

Same, but I think it just comes down to lower powered engine, and the responsiveness it requires for adaptive cruise. In snow mode it doesn't drop gear as much, but I tend to ignore it not going into 8th at this point as even on flat ground, the mileage meter doesn't budge between 8th and 7th.
