Hello, my name is Philippe from Quebec Canada. I received my car at the begining of last december (2021). After 2 weeks the main motor has stopped with a major fault: Hybrid system failure. The car is obviously unuseable and has been towed at the dealer. They are still searching to find the source of the issues...

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience with an hybrid or PHEV tucson ?

Did they ever tell you what was wrong with it?
No, It took them something like 5 or 6 weeks if I recall corectly. They ran a series of test and they told me that they just unplug and replug some cable between the computer and other component and gave the car back.

I asked for more precise informations from the technicans but the refused to let met talk with them….

I didnt had any problems since then, It may be a communications or software issues caused by a loose cable.

This happened to me about three weeks ago as I was on the freeway...slowly started losing speed and the "Hybrid System Failure" came on... then it just wouldn't move. . I was fortunate to be able to move over to three lanes to the shoulder. Took it in and they could find nothing wrong with it. Currently, I am still having some issues...Stepping on the gas and nothing happens for a few seconds before it kicks in and accelerates. I currently have an open case and have talked with someone from the national office who is doing some "research" on it. I don't think I can ever drive this car without thinking that this may happen again. I could had caused a crash.
I might also have notice a few delay/glitch from time to time while switching between different driving mode (elec vs hybrid) or (auto vs economy vs sport).

Sometime the subwoofer stop and come back later when I switch the radio to an other media.

The wireless apple car play crash from time to time

so its looks like most of the issues are software or communication glitch with the computer. I Hope they will fixe this in a near futur…

I love the car and the fuel economy but i’m still not satisfied because of thoses issues considering its brand new.

I have all those issues, as well.... except for the subwoofer one. I also have an issue where randomly, as i am driving straight, the car would suddenly want to steer and turn to the right by itself. like it has a mind of its' own..... I also like the car a lot...but the safety of this vehicle is a cause for concern.

I believe its the crossing Line detection. When you are too close or crossing a side line, the car is pushing you back. It is obviously disabled when you active the turning signal. You can also disable the feature in the car parameter. ( from the menu in front of the stering wheel)

I understand that ... but when it happened I was not too close to the line or over it and what happened was that it was steering me out of the lane I was in and not back in it.... as if it wanted to make a right turn. I also did not have the lane keep assistance feature on.... just kind of strange that it did that. Technology can be great, but sometimes it has its' flaws.
