Hi all,

I'm still dying for a real world situation to use the parking assist on my new Tuscon Limited instead of just for show :p. My concern is that if I park the car on any slight hill, even my driveway, the e-brake is automatically applied. When I've tested the Parking Assist feature I worry that the e-brake is still on because it sounds like the car is really struggling to move when using the PA. It could just be a safety mechanism forcing the car to move slowly, but I would love confirmation if so.

From what I recall reading about this feature, the e-brake is partially applied while using it. From what I understand, it's so the vehicle will in fact cease moving the second you release the forward/back button, which makes a lot of sense. You want to make sure there's a good deal of precision when remotely operating the vehicle. That said, I would be wary about using it on any sort of incline.

And yes, the feature is a neat trick but pretty much worthless in day-to-day use. We've had our Tucson for about two months now. I've used it once: to pull the car forward in my garage to give me some space to fill my bikes' tires with air. It probably would have been quicker to hop in the car and just pull it forward a few feet...but I wanted to play with my new toy. :)
