New owner of a CPO 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited Hybrid:
Just wanted to share that I just updated to the latest nav sw and the wireless carplay feature did not show up.
Here's hoping that changes in the future.
It won't ever, radio not capable of it.
I'm trying to square this statement with the fact that the lower trim level Tucsons with the smaller display and no navigation built long before ccNC was introduced already have wireless CarPlay, and lots of internet posters on Reddit and elsewhere saying that the hardware in nav-equipped models is capable, but that the feature was removed due to a disagreement over whether the nav button should activate CarPlay vs the native navigation functionality. It would be nice to hear something from an authoritative source.
This has been discussed over and over and over again here. If Reddit is your source you will misinformed more than informed. That explanation is made up. Do they really think the top of the line Luxury Genesis could do wireless with navigation but Hyundai chose not to? Do they think now Hyundai has an agreement they did not before but are being denied adding to older radios with a simple update, again like a Luxury car?
The answer is no. The Navigation edition of the infotainment system can not also do wireless Carplay/Android auto, never will till the updated system in the 2025 model. A search here will bring up threads.
If you did a search on the internet you would find this below. Notice no mention of the Tucson because till 2025 it does not have the new ccNC system that can do wireless with navigation.
The cars mentioned in the link are new generation as of 2024 so have the new system now.
"
Hyundai will enable wireless Android Auto and CarPlay in systems equipped with the new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), beginning with the new Kona and Kona EV. Additionally, the software update will ship to Hyundai Grandeur, Sonata facelift, the new Santa Fe, IONIQ 5, and Kia EV9. The new Sorento will also get the update at a later time."
The carmaker will release a software update to enable wireless mobile phone projection in certain vehicles; no ETA is available now
