It’s with a heavy heart, I must bid you all goodbye.
Last week we traded our Tucson for a new Santa Fe Hybrid. We wanted a hybrid from the beginning, but do to obvious shortages last year, we settled for the 2.5. It was still a great car, but we wanted a little bigger interior and the hybrid experience.
I will miss the great conversations and tips and hints from all the community on this forum.
I wish you all many happy miles and a happy life going forward ! Best wishes to all!

I'd be curious how hard you have to try to coax the SF Hybrid to get it into EV mode.

I know, I’ll have to come up with more snarky responses for the Santa Fe’ers now! I’ll miss the gang on the Tuc-son side🤪😀👋👋.

Pretty easy, really! It’s always starts off the way ( especially with the backing out of the garage, I sound like a garbage truck backing up ). If you keep a light touch, even runs on EV pretty easily! So far I get about 35.5 mpg, but we’ll see how good once I get some mikes on it!
We originally were looking at the ‘24 Santa Fe, but it sounded like it was going to a weird design.

Must be mostly city driving, then, or in a flatter and\or warm climate? If not, you got a cooperative powertrain!

TBH, as much as I love the Tucson, I am really eyeing up the Santa Fe, or the Sorrento with the more powerful engines for the next one I lease. I hope you enjoy as much as you enjoyed the Tucson!!

Congrats BK. Love the color, and hope ya enjoy the new powertrain.
Hey ya don't have to be a stranger. No harm in dropping in again from time to time. Have appreciated the input you've had here.

Well ok, you answered a couple ??, but created a new one. Waiting until '24's for either the refresh or actual 'all-new design!' seemed like the default, but the 'weird design' thing you mention semi-answers that. So since no sense waiting I can see the 'want the bigger interior' means a bigger SUV, and the bigger total hp that has to push it. But that also checks the box for 'want and the hybrid experience' as well = pretty crafty.

Now the new question is just how you know about next year's new design. I ain't looked around yet, but how can one get an advance look at this new 'weird design'? Not that I care about buying one, but it's gonna have to be a good deal 'bigger' everything as the newest Tucson pretty much matched it in many aspects (actually LARGER seats down rear payload !!). And interesting if the American market will get a 3rd row stuffed in.

The shoulder room and head room is still definitely better with the Santa Fe over Tucson despite the refresh, but leg room is very similar in the back now. Those third rows in the Sorento are garbage for anyone but children, so I can't imagine there will be much improvement for the SF in the new version even if they did offer a 3rd row. You can Google the 2024 SF model and see pictures of it in disguise and it definitely looks boxy and ugly. Hopefully that's just the disguise doing the work.

Yeah, we really washed our teeth about waiting for the '24. We looked at all the "images " of what they think it will look like, got others options too. It boiled down to our very poor experience with a new model ( I've covered it ad nauseam in this forum ) and I just didn't to risk it again. Best to go with a Santa Fe that has been pretty much the same since 2019 or 20 with a proven drive train and reliability. I'm funny that way.:)
Enjoy your new car! Will miss your posts!
Hey, I may still come back with some snarky comments from the Santa Fe'ers. I hear they're a wild bunch!;)

I'll pop in once in a while. I'm on the Santa Fe Forum now. So far, they're a quiet bunch. I'll see if I can liven them up a bit!🥳

I notice in the back of the SF, there's a ton of storage space under the rear decking. That's probably where they thought of putting a third row in the current generation, but let the Sorneto give it a try. From what I saw, its not so much a third row as an upholstered shelf!

Yeah, I've watching all the YouTube guesstimates of the new model, derived from the camouflage SF that was seen in testing. Can't wait to see the real thing. I've heard it probably won't be till very late in the year for a reveal.

You once commented that you "find new things that the Tucson can do all the time." I'm reminded that I had no idea you said that when I started the thread I titled, "Little things," where I documented so many little things that I appreciated about this car. Looks like maybe you ran out of new things to appreciate? Good luck with your next car. Hope it serves you well.
