Looking to buy Tucson 2023 or newer and not sure about hybrid or ICE. Concerned that hybrid does not have spare tire which is almost a deal killer. Would like feedback from anyone who had a flat with a hybrid and had to use the inflating can.
Read the posts here, you can put a spare in the Hybrid but not the Plug In Hybrid.

Thanks for this thread - I have a PHEV on order and REALLY want a fullsize spare - to the point I thought about changing my order to an HEV to get the empty space. But in Canada the PHEV is only about $1200 more after gov. rebate . Plus should save far bit on city driving. Plus its a neat toy. So will likely stay with PHEV. Planning on ordering a steel wheel (40 offset) and a cheap tire for emergency use while on road trips - should be able to go 2 or 3,000KM on it if necessary. 4trebor2 - did you find out why yours didn't fit on the front ? was wheel more than 7.5 inches or what was offset? Could you tell as soon as you put it on or did you have to drive a ways to find out
I plan on just putting spare on floor behind back seats. If I can get all my luggage in trunk 0f Sonata I should be able to get all in Tucson behind back seats on top of tire.
Just don't know if there is any practical way of anchoring it so that in case of accident it doesn't turn into decapitating battering ram.

I don t know where you got your price, but the ultmate hev and the Ultimate phev is 5,500 fiff in price.
If it were the Luxury phev then i understand but they stopped doing the Luxury phev. Check your prices again. In quebec you will get 7,500 from gov t, it will cover the taxes. Price + taxes - rebate

Your spare tire regardless the size will not fit under the back compartment, Phev have the battery there contrary to the hev, so either you put in above rear compartment or make a safary look suv and put it on the top of your suv.

Right $5,500 extra for PHEV. With PST & GST in Manitoba $6,160. After $5,000 federal rebate (nothing from MB gov) nets out to $1,160 extra to get PHEV.
Thought about a roof mount for spare but don't know if that's feasible with the panoramic sunroof. Yes, plan to put it in rear compartment on the floor.

ordered a RIM online, a used 52910-CW100. The 17" size/ offset 48.5mm / bolt pattern 5x4.50", match to my Tucson Rims, 52910-P0160 , but the design is different. It should work well as a full size spare.

It seems the Kia Sportage IV (QL) 2015~2019, have the 17" rims, 7Jx17 ET48.5, part# 52910-D9210, the same offset as the Tucson hybrid 2022-2024, But the tire on that sportage 2018 is 225/60R17, and need to be replaced to 235/65R17 for Tucson.

Mark, I had two flats with my 22 Tucson Hybrid before I turned to this forum and found this thread. The inflating can was a waste of time in 15 degree weather, and I was lucky it happened on Christmas Day because I found a tire shop in Red River, NM that opened his door to me and fixed the flat for the right way for $50. The second flat happened so close to a Discount Tire that I made it there for a fix. I'm not getting back on the road with that piece of crap Tire Mobility Kit! I've purchased a wheel online, it arrives Wed. Got a used OEM tire from the salvage yard, which will become my Full Size spare! Cutting the bolts tonight to get ready for the spare. I'm heading out on a two month, 8000 mile camping trek north to Glacier National Park, then west to drive the west coast highway from Washington to San Diego, and finally across the southern border back to Texas and home to Arkansas, and I'm not going to rely on a donut spare or waste my time with the Kit. Thank you, blnewt, for the instructions which gave me the confidence to make this change!!!

Haven't stopped by here in a while, nice to see you found the thread helpful, and have fun on your trip without having flat tire worries :)
And for those that worry about having a nice base for your scissor jack and add a bit more lift, these trailer jack base supports work great and you can add or subtract the plates to get just the extra height you may need, and they will fit in that spare tire area too!

235/55R19 on my 2023 Tucson PHEV Limited. Will be taking the trailer down some dirt roads. Sidewall got gouged two weeks ago and without some form of spare I wont be able to fix the same problem in the woods with out a spare or a safety spare should this happen again. Have folks solved this problem without buying a complete rim from Hyundai? Local wrecking yards don't have one to sell me. I'd carry a full sized spare in the trailer if I have to and a full sized won't fit in the well in back. Ideas? If you've done this can you give me the parts number(s). Thanks!

You posted this on the PHEV forum. If you have a plug-in hybrid, there is no room for a spare since the area for the spare is occupied by a battery. You can easily look and see. If you have a regular hybrid, you need to do a small mod to fit in a spare. See below:

That should also lead you to several options for buying a spare.
Thanks, yes I have a PHEV. Just wondering if there is a donut that would temporarily work, not planning to drive across country, Understand speed and distance are limiting factors but just thinking emergency If I have to I'll buy an original exact fit and throw it in the trailer when we are going on dirt roads. No big thing. Thanks!

No full or Donut will fit in the PHEV, a full size tire will fit under the cargo arear in the HEV, or Ice Tucson. Unless you want the spare tire to be in the cargo area.
