Deciding between deep sea and amazon grey

It seems all of you folks like to have vehicles that appear like all the rest, black, gray, muted colors, don't make waves...
I have a Calypso Red 2022 Tucson and it is beautiful, stands out among all the black, gray and white cars parked in lots and on the street, would not change the color for Any other color.

I remember your posts, how pissed off you were with the red being bright until you got the vehicle lol
I had cause. I believed it was going to be Fire Engine Red! Bright Red, a color I didn't want on this vehicle. You're correct, when I took delivery was the first time I saw how beautiful Calypso Red is, a cranberry-red metallic, gorgeous!

I would get that color for sure. I have had a red car and truck for the past 20 years which is why I wanted something different.
And you should. Will you be happy with another color? not sure, but the prettier colors stand out, make those who have them feel good when they're driving, the duller colors seem to blend in with all the other 'like' vehicles on the road today.

Stand out, know your car, be able to see it among all the other black, gray or white cars out there. A neighbor bought a new Subaru and for months I thought it was black, then I saw it in bright sunshine and it was dark blue! As with the blue Tucson you witnessed, what's the difference? I'm delighted with my Calypso Red Tucson, smile every time I take a look at it, and No, I don't have black interior either, light gray, the only light color they offer.

For what it’s worth, I know how you feel regarding dirt/ water spots showing up.
I have a portofino gray Tucson and I’d say the level of dirt/ water spot appearance is moderate.
It is far better than black or dark blue colors, but you can definitely still see it once you start getting up close.
If youre driving on the road, you’d really have to be looking for it to really notice it on the portofino gray. I feel though that I’m hyper conscious about that kind of thing, and I notice and am aware of it most times.
I also initially wanted the Calypso Red when I went to order mine a few months ago, but the Portofino Gray was all they had so I went with it and I actually am happy with the color overall ( but I still really wanted the Red 🙂 )
I really wanted the Calypso Red, I wasn't sure about the color, due to scarcity of product and none being on the lots, thought it may be fire-engine red, but was delighted when it showed up! It's not so much I want to stand out, it's that I recall the colorful vehicles of the past, yellows, reds, greens, two-tones, the only people that drove dark colored cars were usually older folks.

Fine. If you want to be 'one with the rest', enjoy your gray car. Look on the street, what you see are blacks, grays, silvers and whites, mostly the gray shades, they fit in with everything around them. I yearn for the really pretty vehicles of days gone by, the yellows, reds, two-tones, bright greens, shocking blues, all beautiful.

I get many comments on asking what that color is, all the time. Not all colors look good on all cars and Amazon Grey happens to look so good on the Tucson.

In most light it has that slight green/emerald look mixed with grey. But in some light it looks more towards a blue-green grey. A red one parked across from me at the beach and we were talking. He hates the red but his Wife wanted it and she drives it more. But now he is not happy because she loves the Amazon Grey. Lol.
....chocolate and vanilla...

When I, or you, and others, peruse the colors of vehicles on the street today, you find mostly grays, black, whites, with very few beautiful colors around any longer. You want to 'fit in' with your neighbors, don't want to 'stand out', try to find differences in the shades of grays or whites. When I look out onto a lot full of vehicles, all I see are these very base colored vehicles, and I'm saddened by it, that our choices have been determined by manufacturers and not demand. Your proclivity may be towards deeper, darker shades, but I won't believe most are.

When I purchased my new Tucson, I had to wait until they had a color different than gray or black coming in. You say it's popular, I say the 'demand' was created by the manufacturers themselves, not giving the general public, the consumer, many choices, other than the grays, black and whites, with the few blue and usually deeper reds. Interiors are the same, black being a large percentage of vehicles being built. Perhaps you are aware that bright colors, reds and yellows, paint costs are much more costly than the gray's and black or white. You may call it 'demand', but when there is no choice it becomes more a selection of drab colors. ...there was a time, long ago, when everyone wore white, bleached cotton material, until someone 'demanded' something different..
