Looking at this now. Anyone have more recent experience with pricing?
I emailed her a few weeks ago and pricing was the same as previously posted ($1,398/$1,598).

The dealership I purchased my car from just said there's no way they could touch that price. They absolutely didn't believe me until I showed them the details.

Thanks for the feedback. I finally got a hold of them and her coworker, Konrad, was super helpful. Prices are still the same. Burlington Hyundai made the process easy. I tried other dealerships, but they were either unwilling or unable to negotiate. In the end, we were very satisfied and would recommend Burlington Hyundai to anyone looking for a reasonably priced manufacturer protection plan.

A big thank you and really glad I found this forum! Bought a 2023 N Line on 01/25. Typical dealer pitch to buy extended service contract from them. Started at close to $4k and then a final offer of $2.4k. NO! Then found these posts, called Konrad at Burlington Hyundai and paid $1,398. Easy transaction. VERY happy with this. Thanks again to the previous posts! BTW, 10 year 100k, $0 deductible, Platinum level.

Great thread!

We too just purchased a new 2023 Tucson Limited and were brought to the Fin Guy for paperwork finalization. He was a nice guy, doing his job of course - but also tried the usual "scare" tactics into trying to get us to buy the Extended Warranties, etc... Same baited purpose as others have mentioned here with the very inflated pricing. Then proceeds to tell us that if we decline right there and then "there's no way to get it after the fact"... the "are ya sure" 3x you don't want it to which we respectfully declined...

The info in this thread is good to know that ANYONE can get the Hyundai Extended Warranties after the fact... and for reasonable price points.

I do have some questions for those who did purchase the Extended Plans from Crystal/Konrad of Burlington Hyundai:

1) Vehicles can be serviced at any Hyundai in the US and are not obligated to a certain Hyundai dealer?

2) Is there an online link to view/read what all is included in the (2) Extended Warranty options?

3) Does either plan contain a maintenance/service offering?

4) Do these plans run concurrently with the existing Hyundai new car Warranty and Powertrain Warranty? Meaning, when signing up for the Extended, if one buys the 10/100k, is that extended warranty back dated to the actual purchase date of the vehicle and runs along with the standard "attached" warranties? Some Extended Warranties do work like that, where the warranty is in effect as if the original purchase date - not starting after the existing warranties run out. So for instance, if the Powertrain is 10/100k, and one buys the Extended 10/100k - is there any benefit If they are both running concurrently?

Some Warranties work like this (using all hypothetical figures below)
New car Bumper to Bumper 3year/36k
Powertrain 5year/60k

Since both warranties run concurrently as of the vehicle purchase date, if something were to happen to powertrain during the 3/36 - the 3/36 covers the problem and that is used before the 5/60 - as weird as it sounds. Once the 3/36 is gone, think of the 5/60 as really only being a 2/24k from the start. Now there's only 2/24k left on Powertrain.

Now take it one step further (again hypothetical figures being used):
New car Bumper to Bumper 3year/36k
Powertrain 5year/60k
Owner purchases an Extended Warranty of 7/75k

That 7/75k runs concurrently with the 3/36 and 5/60. So really it's a 4/39k for bumper to bumper and 2/15k for Powertrain.

----
So if buying a Hyundai Extended directly from Hyundai (or Burlington), does that plan kick into effect as of vehicle purchase date OR after the existing attached warranties run out? My guess is, it may run concurrently.... but can someone confirm?

Too much to type to answer all of the questions, here's a brief version.
Any Hyundai dealer
Yes concurrent, so starts at 5 years. I got the Platinum Plus $1900 no deductible it's 10 years 120,000 miles from the dealer here. Transferable to a new owner.
When I got it not every State offered Platinum plus. Because of that I don't think it's listed on the Hyundai site, I got a brochure, and the contract specifically identifies what the Plus covers.

Here's one passage of many showing where the Plus covers more.
"For the Powertrain, Gold, and Platinum Coverage Plans: You will be allowed up to thirty-five ($35) dollars per day for a maximum of ten (10) days for car rental expenses incurred, if required due to a covered Mechanical Breakdown."
"For the Platinum Plus Coverage Plan: You will be allowed up to forty ($45) dollars per day for a maximum of twelve (12) days for car rental expenses incurred, if required due to a covered Mechanical Breakdown."

The plan is not exactly the same in each State. You will be covered under the terms from the State you buy it in. There is a grey area - Some States have specific things that must be in the extended coverage. Toyota won in Court when someone here in Florida did not get a full refund as Florida requires within 60 days. Toyota said his plan (and car) was bought out of State and they would honor the plan as executed which was 30 days. Court agreed.
Some States have different emergency road coverage, etc.

Note the Platinum plus I don't think is mentioned in this document link below.

Yes they have a separate maintenance plan available - Maintenance Wrap

Thanks to this thread, I ended up buying the Hyundai 10 year/100K miles extended platinum warranty from Konrad at Burlington Hyundai for $1398. The dealer I purchased the car from only offered an extended warranty from a third party for $2100.

Konrad was great to deal with. He answered our questions on several phone calls and emails and he was never pushy or impolite.

We purchased the warranty approximately one month after we purchased the vehicle. The warranty is good at any Hyundai dealer and includes payment for rental car and living expenses if repairs take longer than a day and you are at least one hundred miles from your home.

I normally do not buy extended warranties, but there are a lot of electronics on this vehicle, and I intend to keep this SUV for at least ten years. Plus, the warranty is transferable to the next owner if it is a private sale.

Again, thanks to everybody on this forum.

Think I'll be calling Konrad & Crystal. Purchased my 2023 Limited last week w/ extended warranty from "Easy Care" thinking that was the Hyundai factory warranty company. I was priced $1832 for 10 year/100k "Total Care" plan which is basically the bumper to bumper but it includes tire and wheel repair/replacement, trip interruption of up to $100 per day for the first 3 days, $40/day rental for up to 6 days BUT with a $250 deductible.

I thought it was Hyundai factory warranty and I thought it was going to be zero deductible. Outside of those two factors, it would have been an acceptable deal. You're allowed to cancel w/o any charges in the first 60 days so I just emailed the finance guy and started the process.

Since I got 0.9% APR, I thought it would be worth financing the warranty but I'll just pay out of pocket. No way I'm going with a 3rd party warranty company.

Just bought my SEL 5 days ago. Had bumper-to-bumper on my 2019 SE trade in, kept it for this 2023. I have a pretty good idea what it would cost to replace a dash or one of the zillion other electronic components were they to fail. Cost was about $1500. Yes my dealership made money, it ain't a charity operation -lol, but I'm driving a 4 year newer, more featured, upgraded trim SUV and my payment went down $5. Hey, its only money.

If you are in California don't look for an extended warranty from an out of state Hyundai dealer / company, they can't sell it to you. This law changed somewhere around the covid lock-down. I assume dealers went to Sacramento and claimed they were going broke.
On another car I got local dealer bids of $3700 and $2700. For the same coverage an out of state dealer offered it for $1280. Unfortunately, they couldn't sell it to me. There are workarounds.

There is also a differnce between policy types.... Mechanical Breakdown Insurance: The “Extended Warranty” in California

For those considering purchasing or already have and declined the dealer extended warranty options, you can still purchase an extended warranty directly from Hyundai that adds to your factory warranty (adds rental car and trip interruption reimbursement for warranty issues) and extends the full coverage provided by the factory for 5years/60K miles to 10years/100K or 10years/120K. I learned about this buying my last 2 Hondas because I will only by extended warranties directly from the company that makes the cars. The Hyundai dealer I found and bought mine from is in Burlington Vermont, the contact is: Crystal Careau Burlington Hyundai Subaru Business Manager c: 802-557-5772 w: 802-660-8099 ext. 147 f: 802-660-3400 crystalc@burlingtoncars.com Crystal got more info from me by e-mail: ---------------------------- What is the VIN? What is the exact mileage? What is the purchase price of the vehicle? What was the purchase date? What is your address and phone number? ----------------------------- sent me this quote: 10year/100K/0 deductible: $1,398 (I bought this one) 10year/120K/0 deductible: $1,598 She e-mailed the contract and I called her with credit card info, got everything in the mail a couple of days later. In my case, the dealer I purchased from was selling the same warranty but backed up by his dealership parent company (valid at any Hyundai dealership in the US). I had some fun negotiating him down, he started at $3,300, then $2,500 and $2,100, then finally told me there was no way I could pass up 10year/100K/0 deductible for $1,750. I did and saved $350 plus my warranty is Hyundai backed. Crystal told me that they are selling them for $300 over their cost. I see some comments in threads about depreciation and reliability concerns so I thought it worth passing along this info, especially for those that didn't realize you could buy this sort of thing, from Hyundai motors, after purchasing the vehicle. cheers, roger
Thank you for all the information here. I live in Atlanta, Ga and purchased the extended warranty from Konrad at Burlington Hyundai. I had 13000 miles on my Hyundai Kona. If you have over 10,000 it’s slightly more. It was $400 more. But still a 1,000 less than the dealer offered locally. It was an easy process. Thank you Konrad.
