I was raised the son of a London "bobby". I'm retired FBI. So, the vast majority of people in that line of work have respect for other people's "stuff". I know that I sure do. I wish everyone had that respect but I know better.

Is it my imagination or is the percentage of people that don't have respect getting bigger?
Most definitely not your imagination 😔

OK, here's a late add: I have really come to appreciate the blind spot cameras that operate when you use your turn signals!!!
I confess, after 60 years of depending on the side view mirrors I wasn't eager to embrace the cameras, plus it's just an ingrained habit to glance at the mirrors. But what finally convinced me was a little experiment.
I have always positioned my side view mirrors to cover as much of the blind spot as possible, which means I can only see the side of the car by leaning towards the door a little bit. So...I went to a nearby park, positioned the car so that I could barely see a sign (across the road) in my side mirror. Then I turned on my left turn signal, and I could see the side of the car, the entire blind spot, and well past the sign that I could barely see in the mirror.
It really does eliminate the blind spot completely. In fact, I would now be happy if the side mirrors were completely gone, which would certainly improve visibility when making a right turn.
Yes, the cameras are great. But I hate having to turn on the blinker when backing up. The rear visibility in this car is pretty poor. Do you think in an update they will fold in the side mirrors when turning off the car?

Rear visibility and the back up camera: had a chance to drive a friend's '24 Honda HRV. That back up camera is to die for. Resolution, especially at night, it amazing. Had no idea a back up camera could be THAT good.

No, it is not your imagination, I regret to say. More and more people seem perfectly willing to do things that, in my lifelong worldview, were simply "not done." At one time, people who were rude, disrespectful, and utterly self-centered, who used profanities and obscenities anywhere and everywhere-- well, they were the exception. Not so much anymore.

A very sad truth indeed sir. I retired as a public school teacher after serving 11 years. I saw this first hand. These are after all the last days, and you know what I mean.

Time to add another entry: I was listening to the radio today and got in a weird mood, something I don't do often: I turned it WAY up. Ha, now my ears are ringing (exactly why I don't normally do this), but WOW what a sound system. It's just the plain-Jane stocker radio, but I have NO COMPLAINTS... thank you Hyundai.

It's not your imagination. We can only hope, pray and vote !!! Until then:

JUST A NUDGE ONCE IN A WHILE
Since I just mentioned this on another thread, I'm pretty impressed with just how well my LFA keeps me centered in my lane, and happy that though I gotta keep a hand on the wheel, it doesn't take much "'input" to keep the system happy with my efforts (or lack thereof). We've got a pretty good system folks.

STAGGERING GOOD NEWS
On another note, I finally got a chance to get her out on the slab for a 500 mile run. Mileage was pretty consistent at 39mpg one way and 41mpg coming back the other. That's actual measurement at the pump. I've already figured out exactly how much I've got to correct for what the computer tells me, it's almost exactly 4 mpg optimistic all the time. I'm ok with that: at least it's consistent and I can accurately predict what it's going to do.

MORE THAN I BARGAINED FOR
Bottom line: I'm super happy with the mileage. I had NO IDEA this car could get this kind of mileage. Good grief, the EPA sticker claimed it MIGHT be good for 32 mpg. Ha... the Tucson is capable of so much more. With so many guys fuming over crummy mileage and demanding blood from the EPA, I'm ONE HAPPY CAMPER. SO VERY GLAD I BOUGHT THIS CAR.

Like you I have the FWD 2.5L and the engine is remarkable overall quiet and the transmission smooth. Even on trips outside FL, not all the time of course, but I can get those figures for mileage if I want to try. It's around 29 mpg +/- around town. I hover around 34 mpg overall. My much smaller and lighter Kia Soul barely got 32/33 mpg highway so technology has come a long way.

Noticed another couple items today. Put the seats down to haul some Christmas items and etc. Wow: the Tucson's got a lotta room back there. And also appreciate how easy it is to flop the back seats forward and lock 'em down with just a light downward push and "click." DONE. My last vehicle couldn't do that. And finally, I like the way the seats release from their locked position to pop back up with just a little lift of the seat lever. Seat unlocks, then pops up a little, and I can grab it and place it back in its upright position with one quick swing. SMOOTH. Thanks Hyundai.

Did a pair of 70 mile trips through the open country with a dozen or so lights in each direction. Made just a fraction over 40 mpg both ways. My soul I love this car. Of all the things I've mentioned in this thread, this might be the one I think about the most, and it's certainly the one I talk about the most when I'm yakking with friends about my Tucson.

I've owned my Tucson for almost a year now, and yesterday was the first time I've really had the opportunity to use the auto-dimming headlight feature. Driving on a 2-lane country road after dark, the lights dimmed perfectly every time another car appeared ahead of me, whether approaching (headlights) or going the same direction (taillights). And frankly, the switch was much faster than if I had done it manually!
Another little feature that works really well. Thanks, Hyundai.

Of most all the features that one I thought I would be having to still manually turn off the high beams because the auto didn't detect well enough. But it works extremely well. Before I would often just give up using high beams needing to turn them on and off too often.

Ok, thinking back over the decades I've likely rented numerous vehicles with this feature, and consistently found responsiveness to oncoming not to my liking. This is the first-ever vehicle owned with it, and the convenience and safety tech on this vehicle keep surpassing my expectations. So, based on the replies I'll have to give it a try-out and report back the verdict.

And here's one more little thing I appreciate, though I know lots of cars have it: the headlights come on automatically when the wipers are used.
In my state, you are required to turn the headlights on (not just running lights) when the wipers are operating. Making that an automatic feature just makes sense--it's a safety feature--but my 2003 Santa Fe and 2011 Sonata didn't have it.

Time for another update. Reached up to adjust the radio’s “tuning” control on my 2023 SEL Tucson. Noticed that it’s easy to wrap my fingers around the dashboard just to the right of the tuning knob. Makes it very easy to roll that knob up and down with my thumb. Nice little design feature, but I’m thinking it’s probably unintentional. Was just sitting here looking through the window of a restaurant at my Tucson sitting out in the parking lot. It’s parked next to a number of other small SUVs. Couldn’t help but notice that I just like the shape and size of my Tucson… so much better than most of the competition out there. I bought the right car.

Ah sooooo. Eveel minds think alike. I've been driving basically the same gen, model and year car the past 24 years, so I can navigate the dash layout on mine pretty much blindfold. Doing 90. In the snow. Backward. At night. LOL

But, it's been an interesting exercise learning the surfaces on the wife's new ride. I'll always use the heel of my hand to land near what I'm hoping to 6 with without eyes off the road, then poke around to find the touchy-sensitive area I need on the square box in the middle of the dash. I still get a little off, but it's just always 20 seconds to the next stoplight and I'm having a ball watching to see what dolt has to get poll positionfor the next light. I got most the toggles and pushy parts down on the wheel, and not taking calls while driving makes the rest rather painless, as well.

Thread Title Related: Under, 'Little things I've noticed', in the time I spent recently at the blood bank I was able to pack in most the entire recent streamed 'DUNE' before it leaves. It's no way as good as Lynch's way earlier offering. Way too much $Ms on ornithoptors flying around and other CGI chase scenes.
But, the next one is dropping now at movie houses, and we'll have to watch won't we....

No goofy button to push to open the gas filler door. Finally !!! Was thinking about that when I filled the tank for the first time today.

Tonight I used the remote (for the first time) to unlock the car as I was approaching it. As soon as I did, little lights came on inside the front door handles so I could find them. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME !!! I had no idea the Hyundai had all this cool stuff.

Isn't it interesting that this car has so many little things that Hyundai built into it that make it just a cut above? I've never owned a vehicle like this: feeling blessed indeed.
is this feauture ( light on interior of handles ) available on all models ? or only from the SEL and above ?

Welcome aboard Cesar. Congrats on your new purchase. First off, as often as I can remember, I tell this to all new owners. get yourself one of these NOW: CLICKY HERE. They only cost a couple bucks, and they're cheap insurance. Unfortunately Hyundai didn't supply one with the car. Just pop it into your dash, and keep an eye on it.
Your lights: did you get an owner's manual with the car? A quick answer would be to stop in to ask your salesman about it. He likely can get ya straightened out. Otherwise, time for a little reading?
That said, the intent of this particular thread is to talk about the things we appreciate about this amazing machine.
the link says " This page could not be found. " what is the product or item ? do you have a name of it ?
