I did it. Bought the kit. Plug 'n Play. Easy install. Unfortunately, I found the link, but it is no longer available.

I just ordered the kit. $50 with tax & shipping. Methinks that will buy a bit more protection from a rear end collision. Install doesn't look too hard. I installed LED rear turn bulbs earlier, but that was fewer steps. At age 76, I may farm this out to a shop as I no longer have a jack or ramps so I don't have to roll around on the concrete for a half hour while fumbling with the wires.

If I recall the purpose of the mod was to blink the outside taillights in unison with the light in the bumper. The red connector is to splice into the bumper light/turn signal into the upper light, so it blinks when turning.

The video shows that.
