Thanks Alan,......it is a 32GB drive,...also, tried my 8GB drive,...neither would play. They had no issues playing in my Sportage though! Just thought it would be the same type of reading system,....guess I was wrong!?
I had a 128GB USBC flash drive plugged in via a USBC to USBA adapter yesterday. I had a single FLAC on it and it played fine. MUST use the left USB slot under the dash. I've used this slot for 3 years now with a bunch of MP3s on a different exFAT formatted FD.

Yes, an old thread but did not want to start a new one. I'm a bit annoyed that my Tucson's info center's usb media player will play all songs in a folder but then will not play the next folder. It can repeat songs in the folder, replay the folder, or shuffle the songs in the folder. I did a search on this and came up with this thread on the Hyundai forum. https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/usb-flash-drive.698817/ My 11 year old Scion FR-S has no problem playing a folder from the same usb drive and then playing the next folder automatically. Has tech taken a step backward? I am using a 128GB exFat formatted Samsung drive with 250 mp3 folders ripped to 320kbps from my CDs or from online downloads. No way am I going to reformat and copy these back on as individual songs.
My choices, I can play the folder/album over again.

Play the song over again.

Shuffle the songs in the folder. To play another folder I have to take my eyes off the road, select List, and then select another folder.

Same flash drive in my 2013 Scion FR-S. Ok, smaller touch screen, but check out those knobs.

It will play the Chicago folder and when finished start playing the C,S,N, & Y folder, or I can pick another folder. Yes, I'm a big fan of classic rock.

Something odd here. I use a exFAT formatted flash drive and my Tucson plays folders fine, goes to the next folder, I can switch random mode on and off. I've been doing this for 3 years now. I have 4500 MP3s on my FD, I don't remember how many folders but a folder per artist sometimes with multiple albums in those folders.

I have now tried a flash drive on my 2022 Tucson Hybrid SEL with two folders...one with some FLAC files and the other with MP3s. In random mode (which some had trouble with), the head unit switches back and forth between the two formats without a hitch.

I'm certainly going to be 'Follow'-ing this one, thanks! I as well have seen posted on this forum re: the radio's not playing nice with Folders. You beat me with my fewer than 2,200 files in 101 folders. but for as little time I spend in that vehicle I have not been interested in moving or reformatting all that around.
As posted, FLACs and MP3s in folders on the same FD works just fine.

Just a thought ... the head unit in your '22 SEL (with wireless ACP & AA) is different from the ones in the Limited/Ultimate trim (with only wired ACP & AA), so it may well behave differently.

I'm trying to see if I like the way the Hyundai handles music files on a USB drive. However, it says none of my files are supported. I've tried the bare minimum on the drive.

It's:

16 Gig flash drive
formated MS-DOS (FAT32)
with MP3 files sample rate 44.1 kHz

The files are at the top level - I want to see how it handles folders, but haven't gotten there yet. Any suggestions? (Perhaps I need a more current flash drive?)

Problem solved... I used the Disk Utility on my Mac to format it and all is working as it should. I had tried using the direct erase from Finder, which looked like it should do a full reformat, but apparently not.

In my 2025 Blue Hybrid, I use a 128GB exFAT formatted drive. I keep MP3s and FLACs on my NAS box based by artist and then folders within that artist for each album.

For the car, I just drag folders by album name from the NAS box to the exFAT formatted flash drive with the flash drive plugged into my PC. I normally run in random mode in the car (be aware that on the Tucson, there are are 3 settings on the "random" button on the display). Random across the flash drive, random with a folder and I don't remember the 3rd one :))

So, not sure about doing this via the Mac but my 2025 certainly does NOT require FAT32. I don't think my 2022 SEL Hybrid either but can no longer check that.

My flash drive is a swivel with both USBA and USBC on it. IIRC, the USBA end used to work as exFAT on my 2022 SEL Hybrid but not 100% sure.
