@Mediaman : I just went today to change my tires, and my dealer told me that StantaFe PHEV won't come to North America anymore. Not sure if it meant new orders only, or it affects already placed ones. Sorry to be the bearer of such news.

Did anyone receive ANY updates from Hyundai WRT manufacturing/shipping in the last couple weeks? Nothing seems to be happening...
There was a vessel (Glovis Sky) that dropped off cars at Annacis Island from Korea last week. It was strangely docked there for 3 days (typically only stays for 1 day).
My dealer emailed me on Saturday saying there was some issues at the port (so the story seems to match), but that my PHEV should arrive at the dealership in Ontario by mid April. 🤞

Great news. Congrats. I assume that you've received an email from Hyundai stating that your vehicle is being build together with Vin #?

I don't get the direct emails from Hyundai Canada (dealership might have entered my email incorrectly). But my dealership emailed me on February 14th saying vehicle was built and gave me the VIN number. At that time, ETA was April 10th...so they're behind by a few days.

Even though I have my Tucson, I'm still following this thread because I'm rooting for the rest of you. Hopefully the problems at the port get cleared up soon.

The previous ship, the Liberty King, must have had a lot of Tucsons on it because I'm starting to see them everywhere in Calgary. Even saw another PHEV yesterday; it was my first glimpse of the Amazon Grey colour. (Very nice, although I'm still glad that I got Crimson Red. Easier to find in parking lots.)

Just got VIN # from my dealer, so things are moving somewhat. ETA end of May (guestimate). Can anyone comment on the time frame from VIN to delivery?

Did you manage to place your order before they shut down ordering? Or were you on waitlist? I'm on a waitlist, but from March 2022.

I just gave up on the idea of getting my Hyundai PHEV in 2023 and put in a deposit for an Outlander PHEV, which has a 4-5 week wait.

Our order went through Dec 4th, 2021 (yes, 2021), so it's been 1 years, 4 months and 2 days ago, but who is counting. I was thinking of giving up, but decently equipped Outlander goes for 60+, and that vehicle is little too big for our needs. I drove it, and I really liked it, but price and size was a deal breaker for me. On top of that , Mitsu dealer in Ottawa was close to 6-8 weeks delivery. Good luck!

I ordered the Tucson phev in January of 2022 in Calgary. Last contact with my dealer was January of 2023, they stated none of these cars were delivered to their location for almost 12 months. They have no idea when I could expect my vehicle.

Spoke to my salesperson today. I was informed that the dealership was given a certain number of allocations, and that my order would be one of those. (I order a Tucson PHEV early May this year). I was told that I would be able to choose colour, etc. (i.e., not a random allocation/luck of the draw for trim and colour, as others have posted their dealers have suggested). I asked for best guess ETA on delivery. When I placed my deposit, I was told about 1 year. My salesperson said perhaps Summer or even Fall 2023 (so let's say approx.1 year from now, which, if the estimate is accurate, would make the total wait time about 16 months). Of course, being a year out, many things can happen -- materials shortages, etc. I won't get too excited until the vehicle is delivered, but I figured I would pass along the info.

Strange they didn't give you a heads-up about it.
Great news though.
I'm still waiting on news in Ontario. My Tucson should've been on the same boat.
Well they had told me the expected date was April 9th which was Sunday but they also said it could be up to a week later. I had to go in anyways and I think they had literally just received it.
I’m starting to see a lot more Tucsons on the road lately.

Lucky you, there is nothing in Alberta, and the few cancelled ones that are for sale are marked up at least 5k.

Folks, question for you all. Has anyone cancelled their contract and tried to get their deposit back? My employment situation may change and I'm not thinking being on the hook for a $55k car is the right thing. Put a deposit in Oct 2022 and waiting on an Ultimate HEV in Quebec. Thanks for your feedback in advance.

Do a little research beyond what others say they did before contacting the dealer, that would be my advice. In Quebec;
"if you are to pay for the vehicle in several instalments but have not yet signed the instalment sales contract (the financing contract), you are often considered only to have received the merchant’s offer. You have therefore not made any commitment and have the right to decide not to accept the offer. You will not have to pay any fees."

New automobile purchased from a dealer (gouv.qc.ca)

In the U.S. depending on the State, one factor is what the deposit was for - Having a car built - or having a car allocated that the dealer is getting anyway. Don't know your situation on that.

The $500. Was not a contract, but a way to show you maybe interested in the vehicle since no contract was signed. QUEBEC MON AMI, GO to the dealer and cancel it, he may ask why and so on. At the end he has to credit your Credit Card $500.

I am in Montreal, Had left $500 deposit on a Tucson PHEV in February 2022. Went at the dealer a month ago and got my deposit back. No questions ask.
