We ordered in May 2022. Still waiting for the dealer in Woodstock to call us. To their credit, they have called us twice to see if we would take a hybrid model and a different colour PHEV which we stated no to.
I would've taken the different colour PHEV, and just put a wrap on it.
Unless it's the interior colour you're talking about.

Both, we ordered Amazon Green with a gray interior. It was a red one with a black interior. The hybrid was the right colours but non-PHEV which is basically free with the gov. rebate. The 2024 will come some time or maybe we will have a 2025 delivered.

I ordered from finch in London in Feb 2023 and when I checked a few weeks ago he said he thinks December sometime, they did say when I gave them a $1000 deposit that they would check with me before the vin gets assigned if I still wanted it. I am actually hoping that is does take longer as I think I want to wait for the 2025 model I have been thing about going in to tell them that.

So after waiting 15 months and not even having the order placed with the factory yet, I caved and got one that a dealership ordered. I was able to bargain them down to only $3K of added things, most of which I am happy to pay for (window tint, appearance protection because it's a lease, wheel locks). Not the color I wanted, but at least I should have it in the next 2 weeks (due to come in next week).

HEV or PHEV?

PHEV. I found most dealerships get them regularly, they just tack on a bunch of stuff, so they are ABOVE MSRP, sometimes significantly.
Unfortunately Hyundai Canada isn't taking factory orders since 2021, and they just give dealer allocations now.
So dealers can add stuff after the vehicle arrives, as there's no agreement with the customer.

Congrats! We just heard that this ---- We were able to locate the Ultimate Hybrid in Amazon Grey and it is scheduled to arrive in 1 month. So, it looks like it will be a New year with the new vehicle. I have asked for the VIN and crickets.....thinking like you, this isn't our factory order but one they've gotten from another dealer.

My salesman called last week and said that our 2024 PHEV should arrive on March 22. We originally ordered it in April of 2022 with no delivery date. In Oct 2022 they called and asked if we wanted a Hybrid that they received with a black interior instead of the grey and we took it but left our deposit for the PHEV. After driving the hybrid my wife is happy so we may not take the PHEV. Originally we were told that we could probably trade the hybrid back in for the PHEV and it would be a small difference in the price after the gov. rebates but looking at the current "build and price" and plugging in the #'s it now looks like a $6000. difference after the rebates. Still have a couple weeks to mull it over.

I'd say your decision should be based on your driving habits and whether you can charge frequently. If you charge often, then financially you'll make back the difference in a few years.

I can charge at home and at work, and I rarely leave the city, so choosing the PHEV was a no brainer for me.

I concur. I have the PHEV also; it performs as advertised; I am satisfied with it. But if I was doing it over again, I would have got the regular hybrid instead, rather than put up with the months of extra waiting for the plug-in. Also, if long highway trips are your thing, the regular hybrid is the better choice, as it has considerably better highway range per tank.
