2021 was a rotten year for a lot of people, but it was especially bad for me. I had a long spell of unanticipated unemployment, and my parents died 67 days apart. We ordered the Tucson in November as a treat to ourselves, to salvage something nice out of the year.

6 weeks after I ordered it, the 7 year old vehicle I had at the time suffered catastrophic engine damage and had to be scrapped. In the brutal cold of January 2022, I scrambled to find something used to see me through until the Tucson was delivered (supposedly in August 2022). I found a base model 2004 Honda Accord with a manual transmission. That has been my ride until the Tucson got delivered. (And I was grateful to have the Accord; it was a modest but faithful ride.)

Anyway, I'm glad that it's here. Looking forward to driving it from Calgary to Nashville and back later this year, for our first proper post-Covid vacation trip.
Here's to a better year with your new Tucson. 👍
Hope you find places to charge along your route for better mileage during your roadtrip.

Hmm, today I picked up my wife from her work and on the way home, in Calgary’s East Village neighbourhood, I saw another Tucson PHEV, a black one. That’s only the second one I’ve seen in this city. Went by too fast to notice the dealer sticker.

I found my hood is out of alignment. The passenger side is raised and a bigger gap compared to the driver side.

Check your car when you pick up.
Service Department was able to adjust the stopper bolts by the hood hinges and rubber stoppers that helped get the hood flush with the fenders as well as evening the gaps on either sides

For anyone still waiting for their delivery, the Glovis Sky vessel just docked at Annacis Island this morning. It came directly from Ulsan.
I suspect my Tucson PHEV is on this boat, as my dealer hasn't had any updates these past 2 weeks.

I hope that your car is there too. With any luck at all, the last of the pre-cutoff orders will be on it, and the folks who have been on dealer waiting lists will start getting their opportunities.

I've noticed a lot more 2022/23 Tucsons (of all drive train types) in Calgary over the last week or so. The Liberty King must have had quite a load of them.

There have been several allocations of PHEVs for sale, unfortunately, I have seen a single one that would be less than 6 grand over MSRP.

Just called my dealership about any progress, and they noted that they've not gotten a single PHEV this year. Because people dropped off, I'm now #1 on their list... but nothing's coming in. I put myself on the waitlist on March 8(?) 2022. Officially > 1 year without a whisper from Hyundai.

I'm just living vicariously through the lot of you. My current car isn't doing great, but I vehemently refuse to invest any money into it - I know that the moment I sink in like $2k, I'll get the call that my Tucson order is ready...

Good for you, i am waiting>12 months as well, but still no one dropped in front of me and the dealer has no clue what and when will receive.
I got few calls from other dealers that received PHEVs, but none was less than 6k over MSRP

Talked to my dealer today (Hunt Club in Ottawa) and My number is now #86. Only 20 spots down in one month. Ordered RED LUX PHEV Dec 4th, 2021 (Yes, 2021). According to official email from Hyundai from Oct 2022, My car will be made in 1st Quarter of 2023, which expires in 4 days. Assuming they contact me in 4 days with news that my car is ready to be shipped, I am still 8-12 weeks from receiving it. That is 18 month wait....My dealer mentioned that they delivered one PHEV in last couple days, it was ordered 10 days before mine order went through (Nov 24th, 2021). What difference does 10 days make!!!

Boggles the mind how a car manufacturer has thousands of people lined up to buy a certain car, and then produces 1 per month. There's a narrow market for PHEV, sure... but why not be the brand for that narrow market? I'm sure there's something I don't understand, but I don't understand what I don't understand.

I’ve got my deposit back🥲 as I don‘t see much chance of Hyundai delivering within the next 2 years, if ever.
I think by then there will be many more options and perhaps a better case for pure electric. Luckily we still have a serviceable car for the interim. This experience has left me with resentment towards Hyundai.

Looks like all the November 2021 orders were built and delivered. Mine was shipped in February and I picked it up March 8th. Hopefully you will get an email soon that yours has been built and is on its way.

I ordered mine November 15th, 2021 in Ontario and still waiting. Dealership said it was shipped 2.5 weeks ago, so it likely arrived on the vessel at Annacis Island today.

No idea why so many people jumped in line ahead of me, and I missed the last boat. My priority number was #20 back in July 2022 when they were still giving the priority number in the Hyundai Canada emails. Oh well...

After the 16 month wait, I picked up my 2023 PHEV Ultimate in Titan Grey on Saturday…happy, happy, but still a ways to go with figuring out all that tech! Had it ceramic coated and 3M on nose, fender flares and mirrors, and waiting on TuxMats to be delivered. I was disappointed that the 2023’s do not come with a cargo screen (and they aren’t even available through Hyundai). Fortunately my dealer was able to source one for me from a traded-in 2022 HEV, and it fits perfectly. My initial impressions are almost all positive…fun to drive, sharp looking, quiet, comfortable ride. Not too keen on the turbo rev when punched, and I miss having heads up display, but very pleased overall with the vehicle and value for <$50k. I appreciate all the shared comments, information and advice (and commiserating) over the past many months, and hope for more positive news for all of those waiting. And if not a Tucson, it seems clear that there will be some exciting offerings from all the manufacturers appearing on lots (or websites) soon. While at the dealership today I parked next to a Genesis GV60….WAH! I think its been mentioned before on this site that 2024 is potentially going to be a game-changer year for ‘attainable’ vehicle design, and I’ll be excited to see what’s coming.

There may be a delay between you walking in to the dealership Nov 15ht and your dealership actually entering it into the system. It looks like Dec 2021 was busy month for orders. Unfortunately, it looks like it is like this across the board. Toyota RAV Prime is 2 years waiting time, Kia Sportage is same/worse than Tucson. Not a lot of options when it comes to PHEV vehicles. I believe that manufacturers and waiting so see how will EV's sell . PHEV is most likely half-stop, and I am not sure how long will they make them.

Yes, there may have been a few days delay. But my priority number was still well ahead of others who received their vehicles this month. I don't think I'll be purchasing a Hyundai vehicle again if there's no order being maintained, or at least until supply chains go back to 'normal'.
