Good news. Several weeks ago, our salesperson phoned to say that our Tucson PHEV (Luxury) is on the boat from S. Korea. This is 7 months earlier than we'd expected! (We entered the queue last May.) He said we can expect to have it by around May 10th. Because the car is part of an allocation, not a direct order, the salesperson does not have a VIN number by which we can track the car's progress. Nonetheless, I can hardly wait for it to arrive.

Update. I put $500 down in May 2022 to enter the queue for a Luxury PHEV. Was told the likely wait time would be 18 months. This month, the dealer phoned to say that we're likely to receive it (a 2023 model) in the first half of this year. He also said we'd be able to receive the colours we want (crimson outside, grey inside). He was calling us because he had just received his Fixed Allocation schedule for the year and because a few people ahead of us have dropped out of the queue. Then he added , "All vehicles will have a block heater, rubber mats, theft insurance, and wheel locks added here in xxx. All other dealers in [this province] will include and charge for additional things, but we do the bare minimum and other accessories and protections can be added." The cost for these add-ons will be $1580. I asked how the theft ins. compares to our provincial car ins. He wrote, "This coverage will protect any belongings in the vehicle (that provincial ins. does not cover) as well as an additional $5000 on top of the amount settled with the provincial insurer." I'd like to take a pass on the wheel locks and theft ins., and instead get a hitch and wiring harness for towing 2000lb—but I don't know whether he'll go for that.
I asked the dealership whether we could purchase a hitch (with wiring and controller), instead of the theft insurance (which I think is entirely unnecessary). But he told me that there was no possibility of removing any of those mandatory add-ons. :(

Well my ordeal is finally over, ordered my Tucson Phev Dec 17, 2021, never heard from Hyundai ever. I canceled my preorder on Feb. 2023, I was loosing depreciation on trade in and the Tucson price was increasing From original deal (Dealer told me 3 - 4 months, we all no how that worked out). Placed an order with My Mitsubishi Dealer on Feb.10 2023. I got a call two weeks later that he had a grey Outlander Phev Sel coming, paid 500.00 deposit and on April 7 my vehicle arrived. Still got a good trade on 2015 Ford Taurus, about 1500 less than Hyundai original trade value, 15000.00 for an eight year old car (55k mileage). The Prov. And federal rebates had increased 5000 since 2021 so I received a total of 10,000.00 rebates, with the extra rebates the price difference between the Tuscon and Outlander was 4000.00, the dealer had added about 1000.00 on the MSRP.
Having drove the Oulander first 150 Kim’s in Ev mode and gas (highway and city I got 5.9 L per 100 Km ,.got 72 km on the 20 kw battery , used the heat pump for air (love the heat pump)
Overall the vehicle handles great,is very quiet and power in both gas or Ev , equals the power in my old Taurus (300 hp). The outlander has much roomer interior also, so far I am happy with my purchase.
l am not knocking the Tuscon, I would have had one if things had worked out, but the outlander was just that I couldn’t wait any longer

FYI - I just got the VIN for my HEV (was a cancellation by someone else, dealer would've gotten the VIN in March I think), the original ETA was April 18th but it is now May 19th as of today (I'm in Toronto).

They told me there were delays due to some port renovations I think? (I was calling about something else so we didn't get in the details about it, but there was mention of BC and delays)
Hopefully TheDarkLord will have more news on the port/vessel situation. :p

In Ottawa, paid a $500 deposit during Feb 2022 for a Tucson Ultimate PHEV. Feb 28, 2023 I got a call from dealer advising that someone who had ordered a vehicle identical to my specs had cancelled their order and wondered if I wanted to buy it. Price included the extended warranty (which I wanted) and a paint warranty which I wouldn't have purchased but did so in order to receive a PHEV without further delay. Received the bill of sale and the VIN which was to arrive on April 9th. I called the dealer on April 5th and learned that my car was still at sea and wouldn't be here until May 6th.

If it was on the Glovis Supreme, the car is somewhere between Vancouver and Ottawa as the container ship arrived in port on April 14th.

If you had ordered a Red Ultimate PHEV with grey interior from a dealer in Ottawa, I was contacted by the dealer on Feb 28 and I bought it. I am to received delivery in the first week of May!

Was encouraged that members started to receive the PHEV so I Called a Hyundai dealer in Montreal to ask the delay time for a PHEV and he told me 2 to 3 years. That s not all, he said we take names down WITHOUT A DEPOSIT.
cause they don t knowwhen they ll get it.
I didnt call my dealer, cause I didn t want to bust his Balls.

What dealership was this at? I ordered mine through Hyundai Barrhaven, and every time I call, they sound more and more defeated that they'll never get a single PHEV.

The ship has strangely been anchored in Vancouver waters the past 6 days with no movement and it has not actually docked at Annacis Island, so the vehicles would still be on the ship. I haven't seen any previous vessel with Hyundai vehicles that anchored at this location.

There has been an optimization/construction project at the Annacis Auto Terminal that supposedly started in Fall 2022 and won't be completed until Summer 2024. So it's possible this project is delaying things.

I also don't see any other vessel originating from Korea that's scheduled to come to the Annacis Island/New Westminster port, besides the Glovis Supreme. (Hyundai Glovis is owned by the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group)

this is what I've received two days ago: "Exciting news! As of April 12, 2023, your 2023 Hyundai Tucson, 1.6T Luxury Plug-In Hybrid AWD, CRIMSON RED has been shipped from Factory." Obviously, some cars are on their way.

In January I went to a dealership in BC, and they said they'll put my name on a wait list and they don't accept deposits. Contacted a different dealership near by and they said the same thing. I'm wait listed for a 2023 PHEV Ultimate. They said it's going to be around 2yr wait.

Great! When did you actually place the order? Was it for 2023 model?

I have booked in Dec for the same model and no news.

I ordered mine in Aug 2022, they took my deposit and gave me a quote for a 2022 HEV but when I signed the paperwork in March it was a 2023 HEV.
My friend said there was one available on Saturday at Pine View West in Brampton, don't know if it's gone by now but could try calling them?
